So proud of the members of Brunswick Lodge 717 F&AM. Today we held our annual Hiram’s Bluff outdoor degree at the Masonic Children’s Home Camp. Over 65 masons in attendance. A good amount was raised for the Children’s Camp and a donation was also made to our local firefighters who are battling the Brantley Co. wildfires.

Then what made me really proud to be a Mason happened..,After spending the day in the sun and heat for the degree and loading and unloading the degree supplies we received a call for several Masons and family members of our lodge in distress as they face an evacuation order from the wildfires. Ten Masons from 717 responded, organized and then split into three different teams to assist their brothers and their families in need.

I was super proud to be a Mason today.

Last night Brunswick Lodge 717 held a joint Meeting with St. Mary’s Lodge 109, and Live Oak Lodge 137, hosted by Solomon’s Lodge 1 at their historic Freemasons Hall in the old Cotton Exchange building.

Solomon’s was Founded February 21st, 1734, and is the oldest, continuously operating, English-constituted lodge, in the Western Hemisphere.

They are in the process of selling their building and making their 5th move in their history and invited us to share their history in this building.

Our current Worshipful Master (Dillion Cribbs) was unable to attend and as Senior Warden I (Laird Cole)was the acting master for this event. I was able to sit in the Washington Chair, the same chair George Washington sat in when he visited the lodge in 1790.

This was a memorable night and I thank the approximately 60 Master Masons for sharing this event with me.

Thank you Camden Lodge #476 for courtesy work in the initiation of our newest brother. It was an amazing night and the Sand Gnat Degree team put on an outstanding degree. 5 members of Brunswick were present to witness this event. More photos in the comments.

At our December 4th 2025 stated meeting an election was held for the Officers for the 2026 Masonic Year, and appointments were also made for those officers that are not elected by the Lodge. Our current Secretary Bryon Seals announced that after 8 years in that office he was ready for someone else to pick up the quill and carry on with those duties. Thank you Bryon for your years of service to the lodge as a two time Master and your terms as Secretary. We are sure you will continue to serve in other ways.
