We are growing our Seed Library, Grow Along with us!
Pick up your grow kit tonight at First Friday (June 5. Queen Square) or tomorrow morning at Meet Me in the Garden (10AM, June 6. 325 Old Jesup Rd) while supplies last. 🌻

To participate, join the “Glynn County Master Gardeners” group on Facebook* and pick up your sunflower kit.

To plant, moisten the round coco coir pucks. They will expand and fill your pot. Plant 2-3 seeds in the expanded coco coir soil in your pot. Plant the remaining seeds outside or in other pots if you desire! Watch your sunflowers grow and Post Updates in our Facebook Group. When your flowers grow too large for your pot, plant the whole pot in the ground or a larger pot.

Let one flower fully mature and dry out. Collect the seeds from the flower head. Return your seeds to 325 Old Jesup Rd in Brunswick and Check Out more seeds for the next season!

*participation via Facebook is not required

What’s expected this Hurricane Season:

The 2026 Atlantic hurricane season is expected to have somewhat below-normal activity. Current weak La Niña conditions are likely to shift to El Niño in the coming months, which typically brings stronger wind shear that can limit storm development.

While ocean temperatures are mixed across the Atlantic, El Niño is expected to be the dominant factor this season. Because of this, forecasters are predicting a below-average chance of major hurricane landfalls along the U.S. coastline and in the Caribbean.

⚠️ But remember: It only takes one storm to impact our community. No matter the forecast, preparation is key every single year.

Whether you’re new to the coast or a longtime local, Storm Smart Mondays will help you stay informed, confident, and ready all season long.

👉 Follow along each Monday and take one small step toward preparedness each week.
