Genesis Community Loan Fund

Genesis Community Loan Fund Flexible loans and expert guidance for community partners to create affordable housing and more

As an award-winning 30-year-old Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), the Genesis Fund brings together resources to create housing and other economic and social opportunities with people and places being left out of the mainstream economy. We make projects happen that otherwise wouldn't, throughout Maine and in other communities in Northern New England. We do this by lending capital,

delivering expert advice, leveraging our experience to promote systemic change and policy solutions, and opening channels for people and institutions to move resources toward community needs. We share the grief that so many are experiencing over lives lost in Lewiston, Maine. It's a diverse, strong, historic, and generous city where Genesis provides many community partners with project financing and guidance. We are thankful to the Maine Community Foundation for creating this opportunity to support healing in the Lewiston-Auburn community.

The Maine Community Foundation is grieving with our friends, colleagues and neighbors in Lewiston.

In response to this horrific tragedy, MaineCF has created the Lewiston-Auburn Area Response Fund to address current and emerging needs. Our administrative fees have been waived and 100% of every dollar donated will be allocated to people impacted and the organizations that will help guide Lewiston-Auburn through the process of healing.

Donations may be made to victims and survivors or to the broader recovery effort. Click here to donate or to learn more about the fund: www.mainecf.org/lewiston.
