We are still smiling as we think about our recent visit with Governor Wes Moore at Hill Street Park! It was such a fantastic day celebrating the great work of community partners funded through the ENOUGH initiative and FCG Division of Family Services.

Governor Moore was excited to chat with our team and receive the fruits and veggies we featured from Frederick County farmers. We provided him a sample of honeynut squash from Chestnut Hill Farm & Market LLC, plums from Catoctin Mountain Orchard and snacking peppers from Scenic View Orchards He joked that he would have to eat the plum right away or his children would try to gobble it up!

We never could have anticipated that 2 short years after launching our Veggie Van we would be recognized by not only our City and County officials but also our State Governor. What an honor and what day!

We wish that our entire Farm to School Frederick team could have been together for such a special day but we had two markets happening that day and they were busy serving our community fresh, nutritious foods. Hats off to our amazing team!

We do this work because it just makes good sense - the food grown in our County should be nourishing ALL of our residents.

Be sure to keep a look out for our Veggie Van on the roads of Frederick County. We are connecting more and more people with locally grown, nutritious foods from Frederick farms. Our Frederick County Farmers make everything we do possible. Thank you to all of our Frederick County farm partners!

We are incredibly grateful to recognize Texas Roadhouse Frederick as one of Farm to School Frederick’s valued community partners!

Over the past few months, we’ve had the opportunity to connect with Danielle and her team, learn more about their commitment to the Frederick community, and see firsthand how willing they are to step up and support local organizations doing meaningful work.

Their generosity in supporting our recent event means so much to us and helps us continue our mission of connecting children and families with local food, nutrition education, and stronger connections to our farming community.

Partnerships like this are what make community work possible, and we are so thankful to have Texas Roadhouse Frederick in our corner.
