Farm to School Frederick has been a blessing to us; reaching out and connecting us to opportunities that we are not able to do on our own. The partnership with them and the people they serve has heightened awareness of what it means to eat local and support local farms like ours.

Farm to School Frederick went the extra mile with the berries that Shentel employees picked and purchased by arranging for every student at New Midway Elementary School to enjoy our farm fresh strawberries. This school borders our farm and is where my grandsons attend. It was wonderful to give back right here in our community. Both boys were thrilled and proud to be able to say those berries came from our family farm. Farm to School Frederick and the generosity of Shentel made this all possible!"

We’re awarding 10 grants of $20,000 to help farmers get started, build momentum, or grow their operations. This program is all about investing in the next generation and supporting the small farm businesses that power our communities.

The Veggie Van is leading the way for a larger food system change in Frederick County which is possible because of our hard working, fantastic farmers!!!

The Maryland Sun Bucks program is back for Summer 2026!

Sun Bucks puts groceries on the table when school is out. Eligible children receive $40 per month, from June through August, to help offset food costs.
