Coastal Coalition For Children

Coastal Coalition For Children Our nonprofit organization is committed to promoting safe, stable, and nurturing homes right from the start. This is when vital early brain development occurs.

We provide vital resources for every family in our community, offering comprehensive support and education to prevent child abuse & neglect in GA. Coastal Coalition for Children’s mission is to promote child well-being by giving families the tools they need to create safe, stable, and nurturing homes. We accomplish our work through Healthy Families®, a nationally accredited home visiting program a

nd signature program of Prevent Child Abuse America. Our services strengthen families with children beginning prenatally to age five. Family Support Specialists provide valuable education, resources, and tangible support using an evidence-based curriculum. Research shows that children enrolled in Healthy Families® are ready to start school along with their peers. When parents bond with their infants, understand their development and find joy in their parent/child relationship, it is those things that ensure children thrive in a safe, stable, and nurturing environment. Our other hallmark program, Grandparent Connection also includes home visiting and supports grandparents, legal guardians, or other kinship placements who find themselves caring for minor children when the child’s natural parent cannot care for them for a variety of reasons including mental health issues, drug use, extreme poverty or abandonment. Our staff supports healthy development and addresses issues that may arise from the child’s past experiences. We provide monthly support groups, home visits, mental health consultations, tutoring for children who are behind grade level, and other community services.

Coastal Coalition for Children Staff Retreat 2026🏖️

Recently, the Coastal Coalition for Children team gathered on beautiful Tybee Island for our annual staff retreat. This special time provided an opportunity for team building, staff camaraderie, self-reflection, and relaxation as we celebrated the incredible work being done throughout our programs. ☀️

Our staff members dedicate themselves each day to serving children and families across the seven communities we serve. This retreat allowed our staff to step away from our daily responsibilities, strengthen relationships with one another, reflect on our accomplishments, and recharge for the important work ahead.

Executive Director Lori Hatton and Regional Program Director Kemso Moore would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Healthy Families Program Managers LaTeashia Steed and Allison Roderick for their leadership in planning this outstanding event. Special thanks also go to Healthy Families Clinical Supervisors Jasmine Kirkland, Miracle Stevenson, and Stacie Hudson, along with Grandparent Connection Program Coordinator Diane Chandler, for their hard work assisting with the coordinating, organizing, and overseeing the retreat.

The dedication of CC4C’S Leadership Team ensured that staff enjoyed a meaningful and memorable experience filled with fellowship, learning, encouragement, and fun.
Thank you to our entire Coastal Coalition for Children team for your commitment to the families we serve. Together, we continue to build stronger families, healthier communities, and brighter futures! 🩵

Honoring Love, Strength, and Community This Mother’s Day 🌸

This Mother’s Day, Coastal Coalition for Children, Inc. was proud to host a heartfelt Mother’s Day Brunch in celebration of the incredible grandparents and relative caregivers in our community 💐

The event was filled with joy, connection, and appreciation as we honored those who have stepped into the vital role of raising children under the age of 18. These caregivers embody resilience, sacrifice, and unconditional love—and it was our privilege to celebrate them.

Through our Grandparent Connection Program, we remain committed to supporting these families every day. Our program provides:

✨ Free tutoring to support children’s academic success

✨ Therapy services for both caregivers and children

✨ Monthly support groups that foster encouragement and shared experiences

✨ Assistance with summer camp fees to create enriching opportunities for youth

💛 This program is completely voluntary and offered at no cost to participants.

The brunch was a beautiful reminder of the power of community and the importance of ensuring caregivers know they are not alone. We are grateful to everyone who attended and helped make the event so special.

If you or someone you know could benefit from the Grandparent Connection Program, we welcome you to connect with us and learn more.

📣 Together, we continue to uplift families, empower caregivers, and build brighter futures for our children.

🚨 Huge news! We are taking Georgia’s success stories straight to Capitol Hill! 🚨

Today, our Executive Director is in Washington, D.C., representing Coastal Coalition For Children at a critical Congressional Briefing hosted by the National Family Support Network.

We aren't just sitting at the table—we're making sure Georgia’s leaders in the House and Senate hear loud and clear about the real, life-changing impact of our work. When we support families, our entire community wins.

Stay tuned for updates from the capital! 🏛️✨

🎉 Congratulations to our raffle winner! 🎉

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported the raffle benefiting the Coastal Coalition for Children Healthy Families Program. Because of your generosity, the proceeds from this raffle will help provide 2 safe sleep environments and 2 car seats for families participating in our program across Glynn and McIntosh Counties. 💕

We would also like to extend a very special thank you to the incredible Hands and Hearts Quilt Group from St. Simons Presbyterian Church for donating such a beautiful handmade quilt. Your kindness and craftsmanship helped turn one beautiful gift into something even bigger — safer sleep and safer transportation for local babies and families.

Together, this community continues to wrap families in love, support, and care from the very beginning. Thank you for helping us make a difference right here at home. 💙

"They are working to elevate awareness, strengthen collaboration and provide a clearer picture of how nonprofit organizations contribute to the overall health and growth of the region." - great article, and we are truly honored to be part of this work here in our community.

A little more than a year ago, the United Way of Coastal Georgia announced it would dissolve and issue one final round of grants to 14 nonprofit organizations.

We were thrilled to be a part of Strolling Thunder today at the State Capitol.
