In the last few weeks, Brunswick High School and Mt. Ararat High School held their annual awards nights when students received their BASAF Scholarships. Brunswick had 41 recipients, and Mt. Ararat had 40 recipients. This year, more than $700,000 in funds were awarded to students to help them on their journey to higher education!

Each letter students received shows exactly which endowment fund their scholarship money came from. These endowments are the backbone of the BASAF and make these extraordinary award amounts possible. Kara Douglas, who has served the board for about 10 years is stepping down. A resident of Harpswell, she has worked to help BASAF give back to the community she is a part of. We appreciate her many years of service and wish her well on her future endeavors!

On Wednesday, May 14th, the BASAF board got together for the annual meeting and social, to commemorate the very first BASAF board meeting held on May 9th, 1956, more than 69 years ago! It’s with great honor that this board serves to instill the same principals and values as the founding members, through our modern day lens.

Another successful Brunswick City Limits Show! We’re so proud of our Brunswick high school students, and thankful for all those who came to support the students and help raise money for the Brunswick Area Student Aid Fund!

It’s that time of year again, the Brunswick City Limits show and fundraiser at the Crooker Theater at Brunswick High School! Shows are April 11th and 12th at 7PM!

Tickets at the door are $10 for adults, $5 for students, and all funds from admissions and donations goes to the BASAF scholarship fund to help our students achieve their academic dreams!

This 90 minute show is jam-packed with music and comedy featuring BHS’s finest musical talent and band “Mama Tried”. We can’t wait to see you there!
