Today, as we recognize World Health Day, our hearts are especially with the families we continue to serve through Anchor of Hope. We are still hard at work feeding families, walking alongside those in need, and doing our best to bring comfort in some very heavy and heartbreaking situations.

Anchor of Hope has been working hard, continuing to serve families and widows in some very difficult and heartbreaking times. Recently, a sweet 7-year-old girl received food for her family instead of toys or electronics, and she gave us this thank you note.

Moments like this remind us why this work matters. As we just celebrated Easter and the gift of new life and promise, we are so grateful for the chance to keep bringing hope, help, and love to our community!

Children connected with Anchor Of Hope Non-Profit— who arrived in this country with almost nothing—spent their day not receiving, but giving. They walked into Mount Alverna Village (a skilled nursing facility) with handwritten cards and small gifts for residents who rarely get visitors, simply to remind them that they are seen, valued, and deeply appreciated.​

Dr. King reminded us that “everybody can be great… because anybody can serve.” These children may not have material wealth, but they have hearts full of grace and a love that crosses language, age, and background—and that is the kind of greatness our communities need most!

Even though it is already January, hearts are still overflowing from our Anchor of Hope Christmas Party. We had the joy of welcoming over 120 children and family members for an evening filled with food, laughter, and fun. As we step into the new year, it feels more important than ever to pause, be grateful, and count every blessing God has placed in our path.
We are deeply thankful to Hope Church in Brunswick for opening their doors and providing such an amazing venue for this celebration!
A huge thank‑you to Toys for Tots Medina and the U.S. Marine Corps for the generous toy donations that lit up so many little faces with joy. And to our incredible volunteers—your time, energy, and love made every detail possible, from serving meals to helping distribute gifts to the children and so much more. You are the hands and feet of hope in our community, and we are so grateful for you.

So grateful to witness THIS kind of joy. These precious kids and families have carried so much this year, and seeing their smiles, laughter, and generosity brought me to tears. Thank you to everyone who helped make this Christmas possible—you gave far more than toys and activities…you gave hope!

Anchor of Hope was blessed to host a JOY-filled celebration for children and families who have walked through so much. Kids enjoyed a delicious meal, crafts, games, face painting, and photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus—turning a hard season into a night of pure wonder and delight: https://lnkd.in/erRdr-rw

The most powerful moment came when children who often feel they have nothing to give wrote letters and drew pictures for residents of Mount Alverna Village (skilled nursing facility) then a week later delivered cards and small gifts to seniors who rarely receive visitors. Watching these little ones become givers—spreading hope, dignity, and love—was the true heart of Christmas.
