RYLA 2026 at College of Coastal Georgia was amazing! We had a great group of 54 campers and 10 counselors! We're already looking forward to next year!

What a day at RYLA! We started with "Conflict Resolution" with Judy Wilbanks from SGHS and then Ally Christianson of Hope 1312 Collective speaking on "Leadership for the Greater Good". We then headed to the Georgia Sea Turtle Center for a tour and talk on Georgia's Coastline with Duane Harris. After some beach time we finished the day with Fahima Rastagar speaking on her experiences growing up in Afghanistan and "Creating Hope".

Last night we kicked off RYLA 2026! Rotary District 6920 DG Terry Adkins started the program by telling his Rotary story and then Dr. Jason Umfress, CCGA's VP of Student Affairs & Enrollment Management shared his RYLA experiences "way back in the 1900s". 🤣 Lastly Wayne Farley from The Gathering Place energized the group the way only Wayne Farley can! 💯🎉It's going to be an amazing week!

Great first full day at RYLA today. We packed 8,000 disaster hygiene kits with MAP International , learned about effective communication, ethics, District 6920 Rotary Youth Exchange Southeast , teamwork and building self confidence. Tomorrow we have sessions on Problem Solving, Leadership for the Greater Good, the Environment and a trip to the beach!
