New Paths Horse Sanctuary

New Paths Horse Sanctuary EIN 83-0687489 Licensed 501(c)(3) equine sanctuary open to the public NPHS knows that the human-horse relationship can extend far beyond the saddle!

New Paths Horse Sanctuary (NPHS) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization focused on helping make the world around us a better, happier place. At NPHS we are determined to provide exceptional care for our senior, lame, unrideable equine friends, while at the same time strengthening the bond between the horse-human relationship. Unfortunately, when horses become senior in age, develop health issues, or

are deemed unrideable they often lose their “value” and become “burdensome” to their owners. We strive to lead by example and show the community that horses and humans can share a powerful bond and engage in mutually beneficial relationships that doesn’t have to involve riding. NPHS has created and maintains a beautiful, peaceful, safe space for these sweet horses to live out their days knowing they are valued and loved. The sanctuary is the perfect environment to foster relaxation in our animals as well as our guests. While carefully monitoring and caring for the special health conditions of our animals we welcome guests to visit the sanctuary and discover the benefits of the human-horse relationship. Our horses are encouraged with positive reinforcement training techniques. This style of training helps strengthen the human-horse relationship and creates a safe training environment where the animals are willing to learn and participate. Giving back to our community is also something that NPHS deeply values. We proudly provide jobs and volunteer opportunities for our community, as well as, provide education and learning opportunities to anyone who is interested. We have big dreams for how NPHS will grow in the heart of Brunswick. Currently, we are in the process of reaching out to and collaborating with a wide variety of organizations (details to come). We are so excited to start this new chapter of our journey with you!! Thank you so much for your time, interest, and unconditional support! Please message us with any additional questions or inquires.

PEEK-A-BRUCE!
Bruce has found a new favorite spot.... not sure what he's thinking... pick one response A or B below.
A for: No one can see me here 👀
B for: I'm cool in the coolest spot. Smarter and cooler than the average Mule

One of our lil ducklings has a deformed bill. Poor lil guy busted out of his egg like no other sending chips flying like he had somewhere to be other than inside an egg! We named it/him/her Shiloh. Let's pray this bill thing doesn't get worse. One more egg due to hatch on June 24... then we'll have 6 out of 10 hatched successfully 🐣🐣🐣🐣🐣🐣

Does anyone know how to use formalin in a wet specimen? We had a duckling born as a conjoined twin and feel it would be important to preserve it. Time is running out on finding someone who can preserve it.

We've been trying for some time to set up 24/7 live stream of the different parts of the sanctuary. We have big cams that can handle it without involving them being set up with a computer that would have to be dedicated to just the cams. We had a few techy minded people come out and fiddle but if anyone can come help us get them set up and running on the programing of them, not the hanging part... let us know. We're sure all or most of you guys will enjoy the live antics that going on here every day... say Critters in the comments if you are interested in peeping in live to how we do what we do 👀

Call Ducklings Update:
Five of 10 hatched and are cute and healthy as can be. We know visitors will enjoy them along with all the other wonderful critters here that provide stress relief and education... free of charge 7 days a week. The babies that have hatched will join the rest of the older ones at the sanctuary shortly. They are super small! We need to put together the outside enclosure for them as soon as possible if anyone can lend a hand.

* Don't forget we have community service hours for those who need them. it for sure helps us too, especially while we are short staffed🙃 which is pretty much all the time. We enjoy meeting and helping the community through this program and have made long lasting connections seeing many of you long after your hours are done. Schools, church groups, office team building, senior groups, as well and any other group who want to schedule a free visitation, call and leave a detailed message at 912-215-1123 or visit online and schedule at newpathshorsesanctuary.org If you're feeling generous 😇 pop a donations on that link to help keep us going we are way behind on fundraising and need all the help we can get!

Have a SUPER Monday 💛

I don't know how to BEG today🙏.... but I'll try... We need help! I re-injured my knee severely and can barely stand on it .... but I will. I tripped over a tree root while the vet was working on our poor lil Lindy😖 We only have 1 staff person on today who has a toothache and a headache, and 1 poor little volunteer lady who is 70 with a bad knee too. We haven't seen many of our volunteers since we've returned from evacuation. We know people are busy but we also have had hundred of people who have visited and enjoyed themselves here, but we won't be able to go on indefinitely with my failing body parts and our fluctuating staff numbers if our community doesn't help us.... even just and hour or 2 makes such a deference. Staff always seem to have so many personal problems that constantly interfere with their days and our schedule... I've never seen anything like it. It definitely causes stress about who will take care of these sweet critters if I can't do it myself... and right now.... I can't🙏🤕 Please... if you can stop by and help fill waters or bag and hang hay. I'll likely be too busy to answer the phone so just come PLEASE!

Sad news today. We put our sweet lil 24yr old mini horse Lindy down late this afternoon. She hadn't been the same since returning from evacuation. She was an older horse and we're not totally shocked but we are totally saddened and will miss her. Her daughter JitterBug is still with us and looking at her will remind us of her precious Mommy😇🥲.
