ACHENO: Interdependence of Public, Private & Federal Healthcare Delivery

Thursday, March 10, 2022, from 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM

ACHENO Presents: Interdependence of Public, Private & Federal Healthcare Delivery - 1.5 Hours F2F Credits

ACHENO Presents: Interdependence of Public, Private & Federal Healthcare Delivery - 1.5 Hours F2F Credits

The traditional boundaries between Public, Private, and Federal Healthcare delivery have become more permeable as healthcare regulations and requirements have changed. The beneficiary population can no longer be considered as belonging to its system alone.
Patients seek services outside healthcare systems for many reasons, including access, capacity, and cost. Traditionally, migration between healthcare systems would be discouraged through financial measures or by the threat of disenrollment. Today healthcare systems rely on each other to provide services that they cannot provide for financial, geographical, or accessibility reasons. The Veterans Administration and Department of Defense both rely on partnerships with public and private healthcare systems to provide care to Veterans, Service Members, and their dependents beyond the capability of the Federal system. Likewise, public and private healthcare systems enter into affiliation agreements with Federal sector healthcare systems for academic and research-based support.
Through this discussion, participants will gain an understanding of the complexities related to documentation of episodes of care, reimbursement for completed care, and information technology challenges; the interoperability and cooperation of Public, Private, and Federal Healthcare Systems during natural or manmade disasters; and the future of Public, Private and Federal Healthcare Delivery as it relates to the continued homogenization of their respective patient populations.

After panel, the audience may engage in open Q&A and discussion
1.5 F2F credits for this event will be granted by the local ACHE chapter.

Message from ACHE Ohio Regent, Craig McGhee
As I sit down to write this message before ACHE of Greater Ohio’s virtual event, “What local leadership learned from COVID-19”, I can’t help thinking what have we learned as an organization? Your local chapters ACHE of Northern Ohio and ACHE of Greater Ohio have adapted in-person programming to virtual events and are looking for other ways to bring value to membership. One advantage of virtual programming is I have been able to attend programming from both chapters and could not be prouder of the level of education we are providing. Past and current events for the last quarter of 2020 that can be found in Northern Ohio (acheno.ache.org) or Greater Ohio (ohioache.org) chapter websites.
On the national level, ACHE continues to offer value through many virtual platforms – face-to-face credit courses and online learning. Please be sure to routinely check the ache.org website for information.
In 2020 we have learned how to transform what we do and no longer take for granted many things we used to do. I hope you find time to reflect on that and then re-energize as a healthcare leader when you can. I thank you for all that you are doing for your organizations and communities. My best to you and your families, and may you enjoy the simple pleasure of family and friends during the upcoming holiday season.

As always, please reach out to me if you have any questions regarding ACHE.
