Brownwood Local 2863 was established in 1981 and serves as the sole and exclusive bargaining agent for all of the non-exempt employees of the Brownwood Fire Department. Local 2863 is an affiliate to the Texas State Association of Firefighters and the International Association of Firefighters who represent us on a State and National level.

On this day in 1930, The Brownwood Fire and Police Department took a group photo outside of their newly built Fire Station that was completed in 1917, and was located at the corner of East Lee and Fisk St.

If this photo looks familiar to you, you’ve probably seen it blown up on the back wall of the Common Grounds Coffeehouse located at 809 Main St., which was the Central Fire Station of the Brownwood Fire Department from 1965 to 2014.

🟥Applications Due: Friday, January 17, 2025 at 5:00 PM.

🟥Written Exam: Friday, January 31, 2025 at 10:00 AM. Adams Street Community Center, 511 E. Adams Street.

🟥Physical Agility Test: January, 31, 2025. Immediately after for applicants passing written exam.
