These past two weekends have provided us with an opportunity to give back to the men and women of the Brownwood Police Department. We happily hosted two weekend cookouts for our officers, dispatchers, and non-sworn staff to give a little back. We had good food and great company. Thank y’all for all you do and continue to do while serving our community!

Every year, the BMPA offers one or more scholarships to newly graduated students that plan to further their education by attending an accredited College/University.

This year, Jordyn Gerhardt, was chosen to receive a scholarship in the amount of $1000.00 to attend Tarleton State University. Jordyn plans to further her education in the field of Sports Medicine, and more particularly in Physical and/or Occupational Therapy.

We wish Jordyn well and hope this scholarship assists her in her future endeavors.

Welcome to National Police Week.

What is National Police Week?
National Police Week occurs every May, and in 2026, The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund will hold ceremonies, including the 38th Annual Candlelight Vigil, to honor the fallen officers whose names have recently been added to the Memorial.

The 38th Annual Candlelight Vigil will be held on Wednesday, May 13 in our National Capital Washington DC.

In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15 falls, as National Police Week. Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.

National Police Week is a collaborative effort of many organizations dedicated to honoring America’s law enforcement community.

The Police Force is strong with us... Happy May 4th to everyone....
