WHAT IS PROJECT PIPELINE?
Project Pipeline is a summer camp designed to introduce young students to Architecture. Over two days, campers learn through hands-on design activities and games. This culminates in each camper designing a project that would benefit the community and building a physical model of their project.
Campers are paired with mentors who are Architects, Architecture students, and professionals from adjacent fields who are able to share their life experiences with the campers. This provides campers with an opportunity to have their questions about becoming an Architect answered and lets them see that people from a variety of backgrounds and circumstances can become an Architect.
WHO IS NOMA?
The National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA) was founded in 1971 with the mission of fostering justice and equality in communities of color. NOMA has professional and student chapters across the US and puts on more than 30 Project Pipeline camps.
NOMA of Central Texas was founded in 2020, and student chapters were founded at UT Austin and UT San Antonio shortly afterwards. We have organized a variety of speaker events, mentorship events, social gatherings, and run Project Pipeline camps in Austin and San Antonio and Brownsville.
