Helping Sheltered Animals Find Their Forever Homes

Adopt-Foster-Volunteer-Donate-Educate Welcome to Donja’s Dogs FB!

For over 10 years we have been serving the Cameron and Hidalgo Counties as an Animal Rescue Group. Our Mission continues to be Helping Sheltered Animals Find Their Forever Homes! This is done through Fostering, Adoptions, and Transports. Our Rescues remain with us until they are successfully Adopted. When we first began, our focus was on rescuing Dogs, however, in 2019 we began to Rescue Cats and Kittens! Our Page is dedicated to promote: Adopting (not Shopping), Fostering, Transporting, Educating, and Volunteering! We are thankful for You, our Supporters, who help us to carry on our Mission! You can find us introducing our Rescues at local adoption events and at Adopt-A-Pet.com! https://www.adoptapet.com/adoption_rescue/92843-donjas-dogs-brownsville-texas

This story was originally posted a couple days ago about a man who has 76 dogs in his house. We see these post all the time where people claim hoarding hoarding hoarding. Come out with the pitchforks torches quick to Judge. I came across this post today, showing that this man had asked for help repeatedly from different rescues, on his page, etc. begging for help. if the comments don’t come up, please go to the post to read the comments. Everybody is quick to Judge but look around us. Why are there so many of these cases now? Do shelters take in? if you find a dog today what are you gonna do with it? is the Shelter gonna take? It is a Rescue gonna take it? Everybody is full. Us as a rescue begging for other rescues to help us has fallen on deaf ears. So I can’t even imagine what a regular person outside of Rescue who finds an animal who is trying to do the right thing. What help do they get? Now we don’t know the whole story and yes, 76 dogs for one person is way too much. We do not condone that. But people try to help and then get in over their head and nobody helps them. So our point is before your quick to Judge find out more about it. Maybe it’s just somebody who tried to do the right thing and just got overwhelmed.

We have a few cats that would make perfect barn cats. These guys are not friendly cuddly babies. They are used to being outdoors on the hunt. Here’s one of them. This is Spice. She is a female spayed microchipped fully vaccinated cat. She is about 3 yrs old. She is fiv and felv negative. If you are looking for an outdoor angel reach out to us. We have several male and female. 😁
