Every step taken was a reminder of strength, resilience, and unity. April is Autism Awareness Month 💙

Our BiG Heroes, members had the amazing opportunity to visit Get Air Sports right here in our local community for a sensory-friendly jump session, made possible thanks to the Doug Flutie Foundation. We’re incredibly grateful for their support and their mission of "helping people and families affected by autism live life to the fullest."

This experience was a beautiful reminder that autism is not one-size-fits-all. Every individual is unique, and inclusion means making room for all differences so everyone can participate and feel valued.

Our members had a fantastic time laughing, jumping, connecting, and even getting some great exercise in along the way! Thank you Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism! 💙

Through unwavering service to our community, a commitment to inclusion, and support that goes beyond expectation, our Chief and his BPD team continue to champion a safer, stronger, and more compassionate community— in our BiG book, especially for individuals with special needs and their families.

His vision inspires confidence, protection, and belonging for all. We are grateful for a police department that leads not only with strength, but with heart. This year’s BiG Fun Run shirt comes from the vision and talent of one of our own BiG Heroes artist. It is a design that started as a painting and grew into a symbol. The artwork features a jellyfish with bright, layered color and movement that reflects skill and creative intention. 💙

At BiG Heroes, our self-advocates are not defined by limits. They define themselves. They build skills, run enterprises, contribute to their community, and advocate for their own goals. Our program is structured around autonomy and real‑world learning.

The Fun Run shirt is more than event merch. It’s a statement: Our Heroes’ work belongs at the center of the community, visible, valued, and led by their own direction.
