May was a busy month at A Plus Family HealthCare!

Throughout the month, our team was actively engaged in community outreach, professional development, and advocacy efforts that support the health and well-being of the communities we serve.

Our KidCare team participated in Kindergarten Express, connecting with families and sharing information about well child checkups, immunizations, school physicals, and other services that help children start the school year healthy and ready to learn. Events like these provide families with valuable resources and help connect children to the care they need.

Staff from across A Plus Family HealthCare also came together for our bi-annual training day to learn, grow, and strengthen the skills that help us provide compassionate, high-quality care to our patients every day. In addition to educational sessions and professional development opportunities, team members participated in team-building activities that foster collaboration, communication, and a stronger workplace culture. Investing in our staff helps ensure we continue delivering the best possible care to those who trust us with their health.

Later in the month, we were honored to welcome Congressman Brett Guthrie, Judge Executive Scott Lindsey, and members of the KPCA to our Brownsville clinic. This visit provided an opportunity to discuss the important role community health centers play in expanding access to quality healthcare and meeting the needs of patients throughout our region.

Each of these events reflects our commitment to improving access to care, building community partnerships, supporting our employees, and creating healthier communities.

Our A Plus Brownsville staff and KidCare staff will be on site to help families get ready for the upcoming school year.

📢 Important Update for Students and Families

As many of you know, the 5/6 Center has closed, and A Plus Family HealthCare's School-Based Health Center at that location has closed as well.

The good news is that we're still here for Edmonson County students! Students and families can continue to access school-based healthcare services at all other current Edmonson County school locations during the school year and at our main clinic, located at 210 South Main Street, during the summer.

Our team remains committed to providing quality care for students all year long.

Take care of yourself first. We often get so busy caring for everyone and everything around us that we forget our own needs. You cannot pour from an empty cup. Make time to rest, relax, do what you enjoy, take your medication, see your therapist, ask for help, and give yourself grace.

This tip matters because self-care is not selfish. When you are exhausted, overwhelmed, or stretched too thin, it can be harder to care for others and manage daily responsibilities. Taking care of yourself helps you recharge and supports your overall mental well-being.
