We’re back at it again, my chapter just initiated two more members, Amari and Avery Lindhout, while making some history in the process. This was the first initiation held on a Sunday in a Masonic lodge in Indiana. The Grand Lodge of Indiana just passed legislation that allows DeMolay to use the lodge room on Sundays, so we thought we would have an initiation to honor that. Congratulations Amari and Avery, welcome to DeMolay!

It’s with great pleasure that I welcome Indiana DeMolay’s newest member, Kristian Squire. Last night I took part in helping my home chapter put on his initiation. He was brought in by his friend Gary Woods who also joined the chapter earlier this year. Gary has set an example we should all follow, getting one new member for replacement and one for growth…and every other member is just for good measure.

Last night was the inaugural installation of officers for Indiana’s newest chapter, Jerry L. Burns chapter. We started Jerry Burns chapter with an Eastern Star Chapter in Terre Haute as the main sponsoring body, which is the first time in Indiana DeMolay History that’s happened. We installed 10 officers including their first Master Councilor Isiah Hall. We also presented them with their chapter charter. It was a great night and it has been amazing to work with this group over the course of this year. The amount of progress and work they put into getting this chapter started is inspiring. I’m so proud of all the officers I helped install and I can’t wait to see what they do next.

Here’s my second video everyone. It’s about the importance of building and maintaining a strong relationship with our sponsoring body. A chapter that takes full advantage of every opportunity to build a relationship with its sponsoring body is more likely to be successful than one that doesn’t. Hope you enjoy, and the next video will be released next Sunday.

I want to take a moment to thank the most amazing woman in the world, my mother. The amount of love and care she has given me is incalculable, and the debt I owe her is insurmountable. On my best days she is the first one to celebrate with me and on my worst, she is the first comfort me. One day will never be enough to repay all that a mother does for her children, but it can serve as a reminder to all of us, that we owe it to them to never stop trying to repay them. Happy Mother’s Day!

This is absolutely amazing to see! This is the true spirit of DeMolay, helping those who are in need. Thanks to Austin’s cool head and quick reaction he was able to help save a man’s life. I could not be more proud to see one of our newest DeMolays here in Indiana step in and make an impact. Great job Austin, couldn’t be more proud!

This weekend my home jurisdiction of Indiana hosted the Heartland Tournament of Champions. Heartland is always a blast to compete at, and I had the opportunity to talk with so many of my brothers. The ritual displayed over the course of the weekend was excellent and Indiana was lucky enough to take ritual supremacy in the face of such stiff competition. I’d also like to shout out to Jegu Agaloos from Michigan DeMolay, who scored points for his jurisdiction by finishing runner up in the competition of Senior Inquisitor after being called upon late to learn it in place of someone else. Great job Jegu!

I really enjoyed being part of the Frank Marshall Championship Tournament this weekend, and I got to meet so many awesome people, including Andrew from Aurora, Colorado. I had the privilege of watching Andrew, who is 13, compete in Flower Talk, and he did an amazing job! Ritual is one of the tenets that we build our organization around, giving us a chance to leave a lasting impression on our newest Brothers while also improving our public speaking skills. Thank you to Andrew, and to all the great ritualists I met this weekend, for putting that on full display this weekend in the Dallas-Fort Worth area!
