PGA REACH Carolinas

PGA REACH Carolinas Improving Lives through the Community of Golf. YOUTH PILLAR: PGA Jr.

The PGA REACH Carolinas foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and philanthropic arm of the Carolinas PGA Section, the largest of the 41 sections in the United States of America. Our Carolinas PGA Members across North & South Carolina are committed to serving our communities and growing the game of golf through our three pillars – Youth, Military, and Diversity & Inclusion. League is a fun

, social, and inclusive opportunity for boys and girls, ages 17 & under, to enjoy the game of golf. Drive, Chip and Putt is a free nationwide junior golf development competition aimed at growing the game by focusing on the three fundamental skills employed in golf. By tapping the creative and competitive spirit of girls and boys ages 7-15, Drive, Chip, and Putt provides aspiring junior golfers an opportunity to play with their peers in qualifiers around the country. MILITARY PILLAR: PGA HOPE Carolinas (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) is an adaptive golf program offered by our PGA Professionals as a rehabilitation tool to improve our Veterans’ quality of life by enhancing their mental, social, physical, and emotional well-being. DIVERSITY & INCLUSION: The PGA WORKS Fellowship is one of the flagship programs of PGA REACH. The PGA WORKS Fellowship aspires to be the most valuable entry-level employment opportunity for individuals from diverse backgrounds to garner experience in all facets of the golf industry. The Sunny Harris Hutchinson PGA WORKS Fellowship will go on in perpetuity in the Carolinas PGA Section and will continue to help evolve the changing demographic composition of the golf industry workforce so that it reflects the demographic composition of modern-day America.

Happy ! ⛳️✨

We are excited to officially introduce Shelby Garcia as our 10th Sara “Sunny” Harris Hutchinson PGA WORKS Fellow!

Shelby recently graduated from the University of South Carolina and is jumping right into a 15-month immersion with our team. On just her second day on the job, she was out in the field experiencing the impact of our PGA HOPE Wellness Retreat firsthand.

Shelby’s passion for the golf industry clicked after working the 2025 Masters Tournament, and she’s spent her time since learning the ropes at The Woodcreek Club in Elgin, SC.

We are so excited to watch Shelby grow over the next 15 months as she follows in the footsteps of our past fellows! Join us in giving Shelby a warm welcome to the Carolinas PGA family!👏 👏

Day 2 shifted the focus from the practice range to the course, with a 9-hole tournament at Kings Grant Golf & Country Club where our Veterans shined. 🏌️‍♂️⛳️ But the retreat didn’t stop at golf, we dove into nutrition seminars, yoga and recovery workshops, and leadership training designed to help our Veterans lead as Local Ambassadors in their own communities. 💼🧘‍♂️

We capped off the week celebrating everyone’s achievements at the closing awards presentation. 🏆

Thank you to everyone who stepped up, leaned in, and made this retreat at Methodist University so special. The PGA HOPE Carolinas Health & Wellness Retreat was nothing short of inspiring. 🙌🇺🇸

That’s a wrap on an incredible 2026 PGA HOPE Health & Wellness Retreat! We concluded our immersive two-day journey at Methodist University, where Veterans and PGA Professionals truly leveled up on and off the course. Participants applied their new skills during a tournament at Kings Grant Golf & Country Club after completing workshops on nutrition, recovery, and leadership pathways.

These sessions provided practical tools for physical and mental well-being while exploring professional opportunities within the golf industry.

We are proud of the connections made and look forward to seeing these veteran leaders strengthen the mission back in their home communities.

A powerful Day 1 at the PGA HOPE Carolinas Health & Wellness Retreat! ⛳️🇺🇸

We kicked off an incredible two-day journey at Methodist University, bringing Veterans and PGA Professionals together for a retreat centered around community, growth, and wellness.

From sharpening skills on the range with specialized full swing and short game stations, to pushing boundaries with technical golf instruction, the energy was unmatched. We also witnessed an incredible adaptive golf demonstration, proving that this game truly belongs to everyone. 🏌️‍♂️💪

We wrapped up the evening with a powerful Ambassador Panel dinner hearing from Veteran leaders, followed by some great camaraderie and laughs to close out the night.

The exciting events were just getting started on Day 1—stay tuned for our Day 2 recap! 🌅

After 12 amazing months, we say goodbye to our 9th Sunny Harris Hutchinson PGA WORKS Fellow, Emme Speas. Over the past year, Emme has been an incredible addition to the Carolinas PGA team, bringing a level of energy and dedication to the REACH Carolinas mission that will be so missed.

We are excited to announce that Emme’s next chapter is taking her back out west! She is heading to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, to join the team at Snake River Sporting Club as their Membership Services Coordinator. 🐍⛳️

While we are sad to see her leave the Carolinas, we couldn’t be prouder to see her step into this new leadership role. Thank you, Emme, for your hard work with our Section this year. 🤍

Jackson Hole is getting a good one! Please join us in congratulating Emme and wishing her the very best on her move to Wyoming! 🌲🏌️‍♀️

Philly, you were the perfect finish! 🔔⛳️

After a busy week at the Truist Championship, our 9th Sunny Harris Hutchinson PGA WORKS Fellow, Emme Speas, headed to Philadelphia for the PGA HOPE Secretary’s Cup and the PGA Championship.

It was a whirlwind few days at Chester Valley and Aronimink. Emme was right in the middle of the action—assisting with the Secretary’s Cup opening ceremonies, standard-bearing, and getting a behind-the-scenes look at a Major Championship in the making. She saw firsthand what it takes to execute golf on its biggest stage.

This trip marks the official wrap-up of Emme’s fellowship events! We’ve loved watching her dive into every opportunity this year. Join us in celebrating her hard work during a truly memorable final week on the job! 👏✨

What a week at Quail Hollow! ⛳️✨

As the 9th Sunny Harris Hutchinson PGA WORKS Fellow, Emme Speas had an incredible inside look at the Truist Championship. Emme went behind the scenes at Quail Hollow Club, gaining hands-on experience alongside both the Quail Hollow and Truist Championship teams. From the logistics of player services to the fast-paced energy of the Green Mile Club, she immersed herself in every facet of a premier PGA TOUR event.

The Sunny Harris Hutchinson PGA WORKS Fellowship is designed to provide these exact opportunities, and Emme stepped up to the plate all week long. We are so proud to support her journey as she prepares to lead the future of the game!
