GOD USES ALL OF US

The Christian Caring Center could never do this work alone.

Every meal served, grocery bag packed, family housed, child receiving a backpack, person entering shelter, and neighbor given another chance happens because people choose to be part of this ministry.

And sometimes we underestimate what we have to give.

We may think our donation is too small.

Our few volunteer hours won’t matter.

Our talent isn’t important enough.

But God can use and multiply whatever we place in His hands.

Your talent.
Your prayers.
Your time.
Your treasure.

God is using all of us to reach those among us who are in need.

We are incredibly blessed that so many of you have chosen to sow into the ministry of the Christian Caring Center.

And our clients are more grateful than you may ever know.

OUR HOLIDAY & FAMILY OUTREACH

Some of the most visible programs at the Christian Caring Center happen during the holidays—but they are part of a much larger mission.

Throughout the year, we provide special outreach including:

🍂 Thanksgiving Blessing Baskets
🎄 Christmas meals and gifts for children
🐰 Easter food and candy baskets
🎒 Backpack Outreach for local students

For a family already struggling to pay rent, utilities, and groceries, holidays and back-to-school expenses can create tremendous additional stress.

These programs are about more than baskets, backpacks, or presents.

They remind families that their community sees them, cares about them, and is walking alongside them.

TIER FOUR: FROM HOMELESSNESS TO HOME

Emergency help matters.

But the ultimate goal is stability and permanent housing.

Through Rapid ReHousing, the Christian Caring Center helps individuals and families move from homelessness or temporary housing into safe, stable, long-term housing.

Our Bridge of Hope program surrounds families with mentoring, encouragement, spiritual support, and community connections designed to help them remain stable once they are housed.

And we continue working toward the future through the development of Eden Village @ CCC, our tiny-home initiative.

From a meal on the street…

to emergency shelter…

to case management…

to the keys to a permanent home.

That is what long-term ministry can look like.

HELPING PEOPLE GET BACK TO WORK

Part of creating long-term stability is helping people regain independence.

At the Christian Caring Center, we provide opportunities for people to learn, serve, build skills, and prepare for employment.

Shelter guests, volunteers, Welfare-to-Work participants, probation/community service participants, and others have opportunities to volunteer and job shadow alongside our staff in many of our programs.

We also work with employment programs serving adults age 55 and older who are looking to return to the workforce, and the CCC partners with AmeriCorps through a paid volunteer position.

Sometimes someone just needs an opportunity to begin again.

We are grateful to be a place where that new beginning can happen.

TIER THREE: STABILITY TAKES MORE THAN ONE KIND OF HELP

A housing crisis rarely begins with just one problem.

A family may be behind on rent while also struggling with groceries. Someone may need help paying a utility bill while searching for work. Another person may simply have no idea where to begin.

That’s why the Christian Caring Center offers wraparound services.

Our programs include:

• Food Pantry assistance
• Emergency financial and utility assistance through our Salvation Army Service Unit
• Case management and referrals
• Homelessness prevention and rental assistance
• Holiday food and gift outreach
• Backpack Outreach for children
• Employment training and job-shadowing opportunities

Sometimes preventing homelessness means helping with food.

Sometimes it means helping with rent.

Sometimes it means helping someone find the resources, skills, or confidence they need to move forward.

Meeting one need can sometimes prevent an entire family from falling into crisis.

TIER TWO: WHEN SOMEONE IS IN CRISIS

What happens when someone suddenly has nowhere to sleep?

That is where Crisis Intervention becomes so important.

The Christian Caring Center provides emergency assistance including short-term motel stays and shelter when individuals and families are facing an immediate housing crisis.

Our shelter programs provide more than a bed.

During their stay, guests have the opportunity to work toward stability, connect with resources, address barriers, and focus on the next step toward permanent housing.

The goal isn’t simply to provide shelter for tonight.

The goal is to help someone reach a place where they no longer need emergency shelter at all.

TIER ONE: REACHING PEOPLE WHERE THEY ARE

Sometimes helping someone begins with something as simple as a hot meal.

Through our Homeless Outreach, meals are delivered twice each week to individuals who are living outdoors or staying in local motels.

At the Christian Caring Center, our Community Lunch also provides hot meals to people who come through our doors needing nourishment, fellowship, and a place where they are welcomed.

These programs give us the opportunity to build relationships, learn what someone is facing, and connect them with additional help when they are ready.

A meal may be the first thing we provide.

But often, it becomes the beginning of something much bigger.

“I Didn’t Know You Did All That!”

We hear this all the time:

“I didn’t know the Christian Caring Center did all these things.”

And we understand why. Often, we share one program, one need, or one person’s story at a time.

But the Christian Caring Center is so much more than one program.

Yes, we spend a great deal of time helping individuals and families experiencing homelessness. But we also work to prevent homelessness, meet immediate needs, provide ongoing support, and help people move toward stability and permanent housing.

Over the next several posts, we’re going to take you inside the entire ministry of the CCC and show you what the Lord is doing through your prayers, volunteer hours, donations, and support.

In this economy, almost everyone knows someone who is struggling.

If you know someone who needs help, tell them about the Christian Caring Center.

We may be able to help.
