Helen and Robin rode the Red and Blue Trails again, a few more obstacles were located on the trails.....The worse location was cleared and the others are easy enough to ride around until they too can be cleared off the trail.

While Darrel was on the tractor, Helen and Robin were on horses checking out the Red and Blue Trails. A large tree is across the Red Train behind road marker 13 and a small tree blocking the hill in the bottom of the Blue Trail going towards the bluff (hope to get these cleared when we have the proper tools). A few briars were cut off the trail and a large vine cut to prevent anyone getting caught up in it. The far fields by the old farmstead look great, the fields were cut and hay baled.

Six hours of tractor time today for Darrel to get the grass cut at Cole Creek Trail. He started at the main trailhead/camping area and worked his way on the field trails, and parking area. Happy Trails

Anyone interested in trails, the BCHMO organization, or becoming a Chapter member are welcome to volunteer as we work with the U.S. Forest Service to maintain the Cole Creek trail system by cleaning up and clipping the trails. Do as little or as much work as you want OR simply bring your horse to ride the trails!

Darrel mowed the Cole Creek Trailhead and the parking area in the middle of the trail system. Strange....at the trailhead a path was cut and a large part of the trailhead mowed! Signs of fireworks were in the area and cleaned up fairly well but more was scooped into the tractor bucket. The 'wet spot' had a puddle...needs more work and a boulder at the Red/Blue Trail intersection showed signs of trying to blow it up (?)...the wires were also picked up to dispose of properly.

UPDATE: Let’s ride! Appears the heavy rains missed the area. Pack up the horses and tack (with clipping tools or bags for trash) and be at the Cole Creek Trailhead.
This Saturday, 20 June, is the Brownfield Chapter work event with the group ride out time at 9:30 from the main Cole Creek Trailhead.
Watching the weather to determine if this event can happen or be cancelled! PLEASE watch for updates. Hoepfully the rain misses this area and several are able to come. Work as little or as much as you want OR just ride!

Huge shoutout to Brownfield Chapter members Dianna and Robin for clipping on the Orange Trail. Their hard work made the Orange Trail a lot easier and safer to navigate. More trimming is needed but wow what a difference these 2 made!
