It is with great sadness that Mountain View Fire Rescue announces the passing of Engineer Eric Losh, who died yesterday in an off-duty accident. Eric joined our organization in 2010 and served with distinction for nearly 15 years.

He was a trusted colleague, a committed professional, and a friend to many across our agency. His loss will be felt deeply throughout the entire MVFR family.

Funeral arrangements are still being finalized and will be shared as soon as details become available.

We ask that the community join us in keeping Eric’s family, friends, and fellow firefighters in their thoughts during this very difficult time.

The Lee Fire is the largest fire in the state currently, burning more than 100,000 acres. Also in Rio Blanco County, the Elk Fire has burned more than 14,000 acres.
