"NAWT's Hapchuk Scholarship focuses on university students pursuing bachelor-degree fields connected to wastewater transport and treatment, including natural and environmental sciences, biological sciences, agricultural and civil engineering, and management or business.

Applicants are also expected to demonstrate academic progress and an interest in a career related to the management of wastewater. The scholarship therefore supports students whose education can contribute to the future of the wastewater industry.

Contributions to the Hapchuk Scholarship Fund give the NAWT Board greater ability to offer scholarship support to students interested in the wastewater treatment industry.

Even though online registration is closed, there are a few seats available… If you’d still like to attend, arrive at least 20 minutes before the course begins this Wednesday, October 28 at 8:00 a.m. to be a part of the discussion and connect with workers at the conference’s registration desk. There will be a minimal increase to the registration cost for walk-ins.

The Vac Truck Training Course is designed specifically for those who own or operate vacuum trucks within the industry. It is a great resource for current owners of OWTS pumping services AND is an excellent opportunity to provide training and information to their employees who may just be getting started in the industry.

Join us November 1st in Roanoke, VA for "Why Inspect OWTS for Real Estate Transactions and Being a Professional OWTS Inspector."

This workshop will address VA current regulatory environment and practitioner needs surrounding OWTS Inspections. The key topics will be discussing the reasons and importance of OWTS inspections. We will discuss the professional responsibilities of the OWTS inspector. Why they should be concerned about system performance and public health impact. Why the inspector must be well versed in septic 101 and understanding the entirety of the system and being able to articulate the results of the OWTS inspection not only to other professionals within the industry, but also to the homeowner.

The afternoon session is going to be going be a highly interactive session that will utilize video demonstrations, inspection vignettes, and facilitated discussion to illustrate real-world inspection scenarios.

Topics will include:

Over 35 industry professionals showed up, ready to learn, collaborate, and take action!

At this year’s Wastewater Symposium, held in conjunction with the WEQ Fair in Nashville, we tackled one of the biggest challenges facing our industry: Finding sustainable solutions for septage disposal.
