Dear Broomfield Buddies allies, stakeholders, teachers, paraeducators, principals, supporters, pro-bono grant writers and grant recipients,
We are reaching out to you today to share some news regarding our tiny but mighty non-profit, Broomfield Buddies. For the past ten years that we’ve existed, we have been part of the Broomfield Community Foundation as our fiscal sponsor. We are deeply grateful to the Broomfield Community Foundation for their support, sponsorship, guidance, and for letting us be part of such an outstanding organization for the past ten years.
For a number of reasons, it no longer makes sense for either organization to continue our partnership. Therefore, in the second half of this calendar year, it is our intention to become our own 501-C3 organization. It will be Broomfield Buddies 3.0! We are still deeply committed to our mission and vision:
Broomfield Buddies exists to support social emotional learning and mental health of children and youth in Broomfield. We provide resources and advocacy for educators in any school in Broomfield.
In light of this new news, we will be doing the following:
Unfortunately, we are unable to go forward with our Fall 2024 Grant Cycle. If you have applied, please know that our goal is to get our Grant Cycle up and running by Fall of 2025.
We are looking for anyone with expertise in the area of setting up a 501-C3 to partner with us - please reach out to us at the email address at the bottom of this email.
After our 501-C3 is created, we will receive the remaining balance of our fundraised money from the Broomfield Community Foundation as seed money. So please know that all money collected will still belong to Broomfield Buddies.
We are deeply grateful for all of your support over the years and we can not wait to unveil the 3.0 version of Broomfiled Buddies.
With love, appreciation and respect,
Tracy Stegall and Samara Williams (Broomfield Buddies)
