What a way to close out 25 years of Heart of Broomfield.

Our "Last Rodeo" Heart of Broomfield Gala & Fundraiser brought together past honorees, community leaders, nonprofit partners, donors, and friends to celebrate a quarter century of generosity and impact in Broomfield.

In the coming days, we'll share more about:
- The TerHar family's Enduring Heart Lifetime Achievement Award
- Inspiring stories featured in our community impact films
- The partnerships that continue to strengthen our community
-And yes—a remarkable $1 million challenge opportunity that was announced during the evening.

As an added surprise, attendees also learned about a sweepstakes opportunity featuring a COBRA sport convertible and $20,000 cash.

Last week, some of our Youth Advisor Council members had the honor of presenting a check to David Flaherty, board member of the Five Star Education Foundation. The YAC members spent much of the year fundraising to fight food insecurity and are proud to give back to the community!

What a night!
The Broomfield Community Foundation proudly hosted the 25th and final Heart of Broomfield Awards & Fundraiser, themed "The Last Rodeo." Together, we celebrated 25 years of generosity, leadership, and community spirit.

A special highlight of the evening was honoring Jack and Penny TerHar and their family as the final recipients of the Enduring Heart Lifetime Achievement Award. Their visionary $100,000 matching challenge in 2000 helped establish the Legacy Endowment Fund, which continues to support local nonprofits and strengthen our community today.

We were also thrilled to reunite more than 45 past Heart of Broomfield honorees—individuals whose service, philanthropy, and leadership have helped shape Broomfield for generations.

Thank you to the Broomfield Enterprise, our media partner for all 25 years of the Heart of Broomfield Awards, for sharing the TerHar family's story and the exciting opportunity they are offering to help grow the Legacy Endowment Fund for the future.

Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, sponsored, and celebrated with us. While this was the final Heart of Broomfield event, the spirit of generosity that defines our community lives on.

Parents, relatives and neighbors of teens - please share this opportunity!

You are invited to find a meaningful volunteer opportunity at our upcoming Teen Volunteer Match event on Wednesday, April 22, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Broomfield Community Center. Meet with up to 15 nonprofits in your community that offer teen volunteer opportunities. Reservations are not required, but if you complete the RSVP you will get a reminder about the event and info about teen opportunities after the event.

Project Angel Heart Service Project
Students also have the opportunity to earn volunteer service hours by helping decorate a meal bag for Project Angel Heart. The meal bags are packed with nutritious meals and delivered to residents living with severe illnesses at no charge. Bring your paperwork and get signed off for your time.
