A ribbon cutting. A new home. A growing company

This week, we celebrated The Grove at Cottonwood, Broomfield’s newest income-aligned rental community dedicated homes for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

We’re proud to celebrate the many partners who helped bring this vision to life—and even more excited to welcome the residents who now call The Grove home. Gabby Gonzales, pictured in a coral colored shirt, is one of 40 people who gets to call The Grove home and has been part of the project since crews broke ground.

We’re also proud to see BCF Board Member Linda Fahrenbauch among the community leaders helping advance this important work through her involvement with the Broomfield Housing Alliance.

Here’s to new beginnings, new neighbors, and a stronger Broomfield!

Remembering Dolly Parton

This week we lost a music legend — and one of the most generous philanthropists of our time. Since 1995, Dolly's Imagination Library has mailed free books to kids from birth to age 5, growing from one Tennessee county into a worldwide movement that's gifted more than 332 million books.

Right here in Broomfield, Broomfield Rotary Club — led by Dennis Kennedy — has carried that mission forward for local families, and BCF has proudly supported their work with two grants over the years.

What if we added one more tradition to our Independence Day celebrations?

As we gather with family and friends this holiday weekend, let's remember that one of America's greatest strengths has always been neighbors helping neighbors.

One of the freedoms we celebrate is our ability to shape the future of our communities. We do that when we vote. We do it when we volunteer. And we do it when we support the local organizations working every day to improve lives.

That's why we're excited about Giving 4th, a new America250 initiative encouraging Americans to make charitable giving and volunteerism part of their Independence Day tradition. It's a reminder that patriotism isn't only about celebrating our nation's history—it's also about investing in its future.

Rather than making a pledge for another day, why not make a difference today?

The Broomfield Community Foundation invites you to support the local causes that matter most to you. From education and scholarships to human services, youth programs, seniors, the arts, environmental initiatives, and more, your gift empowers trusted nonprofit organizations that strengthen our community every day.

Looking for another way to give back?
America250 is also encouraging volunteer service across the country. Individuals who log their volunteer hours can help direct $1 million in grants that America250 will award during 2026. Log your volunteer hours:
https://america250.my.site.com/volunteerhours/s/submit-individual-hours
Note on September 16th we'll be hosting a volunteer match event!

As you celebrate this Fourth of July, we hope you'll enjoy time with those you love—and perhaps inspire someone else to embrace the Giving 4th tradition.

Happy Independence Day from all of us at the Broomfield Community Foundation!

Behind every success story is a community that cares.

At Heart of Broomfield, we shared a Community Impact Film that follows one neighbor's journey and the network of support that helped create new opportunities along the way.

The film highlights something we see every day: Broomfield nonprofits working together to help people navigate challenges, build stability, and move forward with hope.

No single organization does this work alone. It takes collaboration, compassion, and a shared commitment to strengthening our community.

Take a few minutes to view this inspiring story and see the difference we're making together.

Where are they now?

The Heart of Broomfield Youth Award has recognized outstanding young leaders for more than two decades. Today, many of those recipients continue to serve the community in meaningful ways.

A recent Broomfield Enterprise article features former Youth Award recipients Melanie Ferraro and Anthony Ferraro, whose commitment to public service, education, coaching, and community engagement continues to make a difference in Broomfield.

Their journeys remind us that encouraging young people to lead today helps create stronger communities tomorrow.

Read their inspiring stories in the full article.
