💙🐾 National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) 2026 🐾💙

This October, we’re celebrating A Legacy of Inclusion: Colorado’s Next 150 Years!

At Soul Dogs, Inc., we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute their talents in the workplace. Through our apprentice program, individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities gain hands-on experience working with dogs, develop valuable job skills, and build confidence as they work toward meaningful employment.

Building an inclusive future starts with creating opportunities today. We’re proud to support our apprentices as they grow their skills, discover their strengths, and work toward their career goals. 💙

Here’s to a Colorado where everyone has the opportunity to belong, contribute, and succeed!

🎓🐾 Congratulations to Our Apprentices! 🐾🎓

Our Temple Grandin dog-training elective has officially wrapped up! Congratulations to all of the apprentices who took part and committed to teaching, practicing, and building their dog-training skills throughout the course.

From learning how to teach behaviors to practicing communication, patience, and advocating for the needs of the dogs and their clients, our apprentices gained valuable hands-on experience they can carry forward.

We’re proud of everyone who took on the challenge and put in the work. Great job, apprentices! 🐶💙

🐾 New Partnership, More Opportunities! 🐾

Soul Dogs, Inc. is excited to partner with Pawpins Petsitting LLC to give our apprentices more opportunities to walk dogs and gain valuable, hands-on experience working with different dogs and their individual needs.

We’re grateful for partnerships like this that help our apprentices continue building real-world skills while doing what they love — working with dogs and helping people! ❤️🐶

🐾 Welcome to the Soul Dogs Family, Bodie! 🐾

We’re excited to welcome Bodie, a beautiful Bernese Mountain Dog & Standard Poodle mix, to the Soul Dogs, Inc. program! 🐶💚

Bodie is owned by our apprentice Melissa, who will have the opportunity to learn and grow alongside him while building her dog-training skills. As Bodie grows, he’ll be learning new behaviors, practicing socialization, building confidence, and gaining valuable real-world experiences.

We’re excited to watch Bodie and Melissa grow together and can’t wait to see what this dynamic duo accomplishes! 🐾💚

Welcome to the program, Bodie! 🎉🐶

🐾 Learning to Think Like a Dog Trainer! 🐾

Our apprentices had an exciting opportunity to teach a dog training elective for students at Temple Grandin! 🎓🐶

The goal wasn’t just to teach students how to be better dog owners—it was to help them think like professional dog trainers. Instead of simply saying, “Today we’re teaching a dog to sit,” our apprentices helped students understand how trainers teach a behavior, how to observe what a dog is communicating, and how to problem-solve along the way.

This hands-on experience encourages students to build critical thinking, confidence, and real-world training skills they can carry with them long after the course is over. And for our apprentices, teaching others is another opportunity to strengthen their own knowledge and leadership skills. 💙

We’re proud to see our apprentices sharing their passion for dogs and helping the next generation discover that dog training is a skill—not just a hobby! 🐕✨
