Attention lovers of horror and all things spooky:

Additionally, the boxes of books outside are free until 8 pm this evening. After 8 pm they will be leaving the store for good.

Come and grab them up!!

Hi, folks. Many of you saw an earlier post asking for volunteers. As many of you know, Jess is back to a demanding full-time position with a lot of responsibility, and finds herself increasingly in need of more time. To that end, we're looking for volunteers to fill her Sunday shifts.

Currently, we have the Contemporary Literature Book Club and The Writer's Block Party meeting each month, and leaders of those events have been staffing the store while there, and we can continue with this going forward. Typically, the only busy time on a Sunday that sees customers is right after opening, until 2 or 3, then typically gets very quiet, so this works out well for whoever is on-site.

This will still leave two or three Sundays available. I can take one of those, and we'd like to find volunteers for the other one or two, depending upon the month. The store is open from 1 to 5 pm on Sundays, and if you're someone who could use a few alone hours to read, write or relax, this may be perfect for you. If I can find several volunteers, I can create a rotating schedule where we might only need you every other month. It'll all depend upon responses.

Let me know if you can fill a Sunday for us. Leave a comment to that effect here, and I'll DM you with details.

Thanks,
Kelly Harriger

Is your yard or garage sale over? Do you have any left over books? If you do, we love leftovers!

After your yard or garage sale is over, please consider donating your gently used leftover books to our nonprofit bookstore.

If it's after hours, just leave your bag or box by the front door.

For large donations, please message us so that we may be able to have volunteers available to help you unload.

Thank you for supporting Watershed Books!

We are looking for volunteers! Are you interested? We can customize your volunteer effort to fit your interests and time constraints. Specifically, we are looking for people to fill in shifts at the bookstore (2-4 hours each) and help with special projects like the magazine and events. If you're willing and able to help, please e-mail us at [email protected]. We appreciate it!

I want to thank everyone for both coming out last night to support Pink Flamingos Vintage and for all of your wonderful submissions! I just closed and annotated all the pieces and am sending them to our editor.

On a different note, I was out of the country and am getting caught up. So your Winter Editions are in the mail this week! Thank you so much for your patience. I see many of you picked up your copies - thank you for that as well.

Your support means everything to us! I can't wait to work through these submissions and create the next magazine. Great things are coming!

Tonight, join guest bartenders Jess and Sarah as we uplift Pink Flamingos Vintage after the massive damage to their store. Great music by the Moody Brews and special drinks on hand! Hope to see you at Temerity Aleworks tonight from 5-8!

One week ago, a fire in Historic Downtown Brookville displaced both a tenant and one of our most unique and well-loved downtown businesses, Pink Flamingos Vintage. While the situation was heartbreaking, what followed was something truly powerful. Our community responded in a way that was nothing short of incredible.

Multiple fire departments responded immediately and worked together to contain the fire, preventing it from spreading to other floors and neighboring businesses.

As the morning unfolded, community members and local businesses arrived to step in however they could. It was immediate, genuine, and a true reflection of everything you hope a community would be in a moment like this.

And they are not done.

In that same spirit, members of our business community are coming together to host an evening at Temerity Aleworks on Tuesday, May 12th from 5–8pm. Admission by donation.

Join us and enjoy live music, light snacks, drink specials, and a silent auction. This is an opportunity to come together and stand beside a small business owner, a community member, and a friend as she works to get back on her feet.

Everyone is welcome!
