Just a quick question. There was recently a successful stallion auction conducted entirely on FB. I am working on getting the details now. Stallions are listed on the FB page, and mare owners place a bid under the stallion's photo. The breeding is arranged with the stallion owner. Winning bids are the highest one posted at the close of the auction, say 31 January. Would stallion and mare owners be interested in doing a Sport Horse auction like this during the month of January (the only month I may have time to do it). Donated stallions would receive 50% of the bid. The other 50% would go to a prize money cash payout at Sport Horse Nationals. I would like to see the cash go to the horse with the most points in a combination of a Dressage class, an Over Fences class (jumper, hunter, hunter hack), a carriage class, and a Sport Horse class. Horse must enter at least two categories, but all four to count, so the more versatile the better. Would this idea work?
Edited to add: It occurred to me that this auction can also use non-stallion donations. Such as condo time shares, art work, tickets to events, back stage passes, or anything our many fascinating professionals might want to donate....a ride in a NASCAR, a dressage or jumping lesson package, a tandem skydive, a kayak trip, a snow ski lesson, a dog training session, these are just ideas as I don't know all the terrific things our horse owners and exhibitors do when not at a horse show. Remember, everyone that "donates" gets 50% of the highest bid.
