Just a quick update 😀

We currently have 48 cats and kittens in care. 🐈 The majority are kittens, too young to be spayed/neutered or get a rabies shot and quite a few are still nursing!

Please come out and support all of these little lives at our Spay'ghetti Dinner on October 24th! 🍝

WE’RE SORRY BUT HOW THE HELL IS THIS PUPPY AT AN ANIMAL SHELTER???

Like genuinely.

We have questions.

She is a tiny, all-white BABY.

She looks like someone ordered a polar bear off Temu and selected “pocket size.”

And somehow she is sitting at Bracken County Animal Shelter waiting for a family???

ABSOLUTELY NOT.

Someone go get your dog.

Look at her.
That is not a shelter dog.

That is a “my camera roll is about to become 6,000 pictures of the same animal sleeping” dog.

A “she has her own Christmas stocking” dog.

A “we said no dogs on the furniture and now she owns a sectional” dog.

A “sorry we can’t come, the puppy looked sad when we put our shoes on” dog.

We are requesting that one of you GO RUIN YOUR ENTIRE LIFE IN THE BEST POSSIBLE WAY and adopt this little powdered donut immediately.

📍 Bracken County Animal Shelter

Seriously.

GO. GET. HER. OUT. 🤍😭

WHISKER WEDNESDAY: THE BOY WHO LIVED! 🧡⚡🐾

We may be a little late to Hogwarts tonight, but we couldn't let Whisker Wednesday pass without a little magic! 🪄✨Some of you may remember this handsome ginger gentleman from National Ginger Cat Day back in September. Well, grab your wands because HARRY PAWTER IS BACK! 🧙‍♂️🐈

⚡ Meet Harry, the Boy Who Lived! ⚡
Harry's story hasn't exactly been a walk through the Forbidden Forest. This brave little wizard had to undergo surgery to have his tail amputated. But just like his famous namesake, Harry has proven that a little scar doesn't define you — it just makes your story that much more extraordinary! ❤️

And while Harry Potter has his famous lightning bolt scar, our Harry has his very own special scar where his tail used to be! ⚡🐾 Since his surgery, Harry has been living his BEST life in foster care! 🥹

🏰 Making new furry friends
🍗 Enjoying plenty of delicious meals
💤 Taking some well-deserved catnaps
❤️ Getting lots of love while he heals
✨ Perfecting his magical ability to steal hearts!

We're pretty sure his favorite Hogwarts class would be Defense Against the Dark Farts... especially after all those good meals! 🤣💨

But behind the magic is something even more special.
Harry is exactly why BCAIN exists. ❤️ When animals need medical care, a safe place to recover, or simply someone willing to give them a chance, we want to be there. And we couldn't do it without YOU! 🐾 Every donation to Bracken County Animals in Need, every purchase at Animal Allies Thrift Store, and every act of kindness helps us provide veterinary care, food, supplies, and safe foster homes for animals like Harry.

Because sometimes the greatest magic isn't found in a wand… It's found in people who care enough to save a life. 🥹❤️

And remember... It doesn't take magic to save lives. It takes a community. 🐾

One unspayed female. One unneutered male. That’s all it takes for the cycle to begin.

Cats can reproduce quickly, and kittens can become old enough to reproduce while they’re still kittens themselves. What starts as one litter can turn into generation after generation of cats needing food, shelter, medical care, and homes.

That’s why spay and neuter matters. 💙

For owned cats, getting them fixed prevents accidental litters and provides important health and behavioral benefits. For community cats, Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is one of the most effective, humane ways to stop the cycle. Cats are humanely trapped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, ear-tipped, and returned to their outdoor homes.

Every surgery matters. Every litter prevented matters. And every person who chooses to spay, neuter, foster, trap, transport, or support TNR is helping create a future with fewer cats struggling outdoors.

You can’t rescue your way out of overpopulation. Prevention has to be part of the solution. 🐾🧡
