Spay and Neuter vouchers for June are being assigned. Emails will go out tomorrow to confirm who received them this month. Instructions for pick up will be in the email.

If you do not receive an email, it will be because you were not one of the first 10 people for cat vouchers or the first 5 people for dogs. Also, if you put in for two animals, there is a one per household per month limit, so you will not receive two vouchers.

The application will be opened again on July 1st for another 10 cats and 5 dogs.

We hear every day how the overpopulation of stray cats is an issue. We are asked every day to take in cats...surrenders, strays, sick cats, hurt cats, kittens, mamas and kittens...every day. 😥

We are doing the best we can. We all work full time jobs, have families, and have our own pets. We all currently have a houseful of cats and kittens.

If you would be interested in fostering, please reach out! Everything can be provided to you. We just ask that the cats remain indoors and are kept safe and cared for. Ideally, you would be available to meet for vet appointments (not go to the vet, just meet the person transporting), but even that could be worked out.

Bracken County Animals in Need Spay/Neuter Voucher Program

Bracken County Animals in Need is proud to launch a new Spay & Neuter Voucher Program to help residents reduce the cost of sterilizing their pets and promote responsible pet ownership in our community. This is made possible thanks to the amazing supporters of Bracken County Animals in Need and Animal Allies Thrift Store ❤️

📅 On the 1st of each month, beginning in June, Bracken County residents can apply for vouchers to assist with spay/neuter costs.

💲 Voucher Details:
🐶 Dog vouchers – $100
🐱 Cat vouchers – $60

📊 Monthly Availability:
🐶5 dog vouchers
🐱10 cat vouchers

📍 Participating Veterinary Clinics:
• First Choice Veterinary Services (Ewing)
• Colonial Heights Veterinary Clinic (Maysville)

📌 How It Works:
• Applications open on the 1st of each month
• Applications are first-come, first-served
• No waitlist - if not selected, you must reapply the following month
• Selected applicants will be notified by email with pickup instructions

📦 Voucher Pickup Location:
Animal Allies Thrift Store (Brooksville)

⚠️ Program Guidelines:
• Limit one voucher per household per month
• Vouchers are non-transferable
• Vouchers are valid for 60 days from date of issue
• Owners are responsible for any remaining balance
• Valid for spay/neuter procedures only

Happy Mother’s Day from BCAIN! 💐🐾

Today we want to give a very special shoutout to one amazing mama — Momma Mildred. 🖤

Mildred came to us and on April 9th gave birth to five beautiful babies of her own. Since then, she has also lovingly taken in and cared for two separate sets of orphaned kittens who lost their mothers. She has truly become an incredible mom and foster mom, and we couldn’t be prouder of her. 🥹🐾

We want to recognize the amazing Animal Control Officers and the wonderful ladies who volunteer at Animal Allies Thrift Store whose hard work helps support cats like Mildred and so many others.

It truly takes a community working together to save lives, and today we are especially thankful for every person — and every mama cat — who helps care for animals in need. 💖

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms, fosters, rescuers, and caretakers out there! 🌸🐶🐱
