๐ŸŒŸ First-Time State Convention Attendees๐ŸŒŸ

Every FFA member remembers their first State Convention.

The excitement of walking into the convention hall, seeing thousands of members in blue jackets, exploring the expo, attending sessions, meeting new people, and realizing just how many opportunities FFA has to offer.

This year, we are proud to recognize our first-year members who took that leap and experienced the Florida FFA State Convention for the very first time:

โญ Josslyn Burton
โญ Angie Isner
โญ Lilly Eversole
โญ Jurni Bethune
โญ Daniella Dowling
โญ Lillian Williams

Over the course of the week, these members saw firsthand what FFA can becomeโ€”a place to compete, serve, lead, learn, and build lifelong friendships. They watched members receive degrees and awards, attended leadership workshops, explored career opportunities, and experienced the impact of agricultural education on a statewide level.

We know this is only the beginning. We cannot wait to see these members return next year as competitors, leaders, delegates, officers, Courtesy Corps members, degree recipients, and even stronger representatives of Brooksville Sr FFA.

๐Ÿ’™ Special Recognition ๐Ÿ’™

A special shoutout goes to Lillian Williams and Daniella Dowling, who made the most of their first State Convention experiences by stepping into leadership roles beyond simply attending.

Lillian served on the Florida FFA Courtesy Corps, dedicating her convention to serving members and guests from across the state while helping ensure the event ran smoothly.

Daniella served as one of Brooksville Sr FFA's official Chapter Delegates, participating in the candidate forums, reviewing officer candidates, and helping cast votes that will shape the future leadership of the Florida FFA Association.

Both young ladies embraced the opportunities available through FFA and demonstrated that leadership begins with a willingness to serve.

The future of Brooksville Sr FFA is bright, and we are excited to see where these blue jackets take each of you next. This may have been your first State Convention, but we know it won't be your last.

๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ Chapter Delegates ๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ

One of the most important responsibilities at the Florida FFA State Convention happens behind the scenes and away from the stage lights.
Each year, selected delegates represent their chapters in the official business of the Florida FFA Association. Delegates have the responsibility of reviewing candidate qualifications, studying resumes and backgrounds, attending the Presidential and Vice Presidential Candidate Forum, and ultimately casting votes to help select the student leaders who will guide the Florida FFA Association in the coming year.

This year, Brooksville Sr FFA was proudly represented by two first-time state delegates and members of our 2026-2027 officer team:
โญ Kaitlin Fowble โ€“ Chapter President
โญ Daniella Dowling โ€“ Chapter Secretary

Throughout the convention, Kaitlin and Daniella took their responsibilities seriously, representing not only our chapter but also helping shape the future leadership of the Florida FFA Association. After carefully evaluating candidates and participating in the delegate process, they cast their votes for this year's Florida FFA President, Secretary, and Area 3 Vice President.

One of the most unique aspects of this year's delegate experience was the opportunity to participate in a real-world election process. Through a partnership with Orange County election officials, delegates voted using official ballots and ballot tabulation equipment similar to those used in public elections. Before receiving a ballot, delegates were required to verify their identity using a driver's license or a signed affidavit from their advisor, adding an additional layer of authenticity to the experience.

This hands-on opportunity provided members with a firsthand look at election procedures, voter verification, and the democratic process that guides organizations and communities across our state and nation. We are grateful to the Florida FFA Association and Orange County election officials for creating such a meaningful educational experience for student leaders.

Serving as a delegate is both an honor and a responsibility. It requires professionalism, critical thinking, and a commitment to ensuring that the voices of members across Florida are represented in the selection of our state officer team.

We are incredibly proud of Kaitlin and Daniella for stepping into this role for the first time and representing Brooksville Sr FFA with excellence. Their willingness to serve demonstrates that leadership is not always about standing on stageโ€”it is often about doing the important work behind the scenes that helps move an organization forward.

Please join us in congratulating Kaitlin and Daniella on serving as our chapter delegates at the 98th Florida FFA State Convention & Expo!

โญ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ American FFA Degree Candidates AKA โ€œThe Dream Teamโ€ ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธโญ

Some accomplishments deserve more than a simple congratulations. Some represent years of hard work, sacrifice, leadership, growth, and dedication. Today, we are proud to recognize three Brooksville Sr FFA members who have earned the opportunity to receive the American FFA Degree, the highest degree awarded by the National FFA Organization.

This prestigious honor is awarded to less than one-half of one percent of all FFA members nationwide, placing these individuals among the very best our organization has to offer. This fall, they will travel to Indianapolis, Indiana, where they will be officially conferred with the American FFA Degree during the National FFA Convention.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Daniel Staub

Although Daniel was unable to attend State Convention, he was busy pursuing an opportunity that perfectly represents what FFA can make possible. Daniel is currently serving as one of the youngest breeding and reproductive interns at the world-famous 6666 Ranch in Guthrie, Texas. There, he works alongside leading industry professionals, veterinarians, veterinary students, and professors from Texas A&M University, where he will begin his studies this fall.

Within our program, Daniel was everywhere. He served as a chapter officer, exhibited livestock projects, earned his Veterinary Assisting certification, competed, volunteered, and embraced every opportunity placed in front of him. If there was a way to be involved, Daniel found it. Watching his journey unfold has been a reminder of just how far a blue jacket can take someone who is willing to dive in and absorb everything this organization has to offer.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Hunter Fraccica

Hunter has found success with just about every livestock species imaginableโ€”even the ones that actively try to kill him, and yes, even rabbits despite a severe rabbit allergy. Somehow, he still manages to find himself in the winner's circle.

As Chapter President, Hunter led with enthusiasm, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to serving others. He had a gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued, and his impact on our chapter left some very large shoes to fill.

Over the years, Hunter has partnered with the University of Florida through various agricultural opportunities and experiences. He hopes to soon become a Gator himself and pursue a degree in Agricultural Law, where there is no doubt he will become a strong advocate for agriculture, our producers, and the future of the American farmer.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Devin Maxson

Every successful program has a few people who become its foundation. Devin is one of those people.

A chapter officer, recruiter, mentor, and friend to countless members, Devin has been a constant presence in our program. He never sought recognition, but he earned it through his actions. He consistently welcomed new members, shared his passion for agriculture, and demonstrated that true leadership comes through kindness, compassion, and consistency.

When challenges arose, Devin was often the steady hand that kept the ship pointed due north. He has been a guiding light for many around him and has helped shape the culture of our chapter in ways that will continue long after graduation.

As he pursues a career in culinary arts, he will continue telling agriculture's storyโ€”transforming the commodities and products produced by American farmers into something that connects people to our industry every day.

๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’› A Legacy That Will Last

These three young men hold a special place in my heart, and when people ask about the success of our program, I can confidently say they are part of the reason why.

Their achievements did not happen overnight. They required years of hard work, commitment, growth, and yesโ€”more than a few moments of "loud persuasion" from their advisor. I have several gray hairs that could probably be named after them.

What makes them special is not that they never made mistakes. It's that they accepted criticism, learned from it, and turned those lessons into success stories. They chose growth over excuses, leadership over comfort, and service over recognition.

The legacy they leave behind will continue long after they hang up their blue jackets for the final time. They are living proof of what can happen when students fully invest themselves in agricultural education, FFA, and the opportunities placed before them.

Please join us in congratulating Daniel Staub, Hunter Fraccica, and Devin Maxson on earning the opportunity to receive the American FFA Degreeโ€”an accomplishment reserved for the very best of the best.

We are incredibly proud of you and cannot wait to watch what comes next.

๐ŸŒŸ Florida FFA State Degree Recipients๐ŸŒŸ

We are proud to recognize three exceptional members who earned the **Florida FFA State Degree**, one of the highest honors the Florida FFA Association can bestow upon its members.

The State FFA Degree recognizes members who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to agricultural education, FFA, and their Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) programs. To earn this prestigious degree, members must meet rigorous requirements that include earning and investing in their SAE, participating in leadership and career development activities, completing community service hours, demonstrating leadership within their chapter, and maintaining an active record of involvement in agricultural education and FFA.

๐Ÿ… Heather Cecilโ€“ Senior
Heather has been an active and dedicated member throughout her FFA career. She has competed in multiple Leadership Development Events, raised and exhibited steers, served as a chapter officer, established our chapterโ€™s guinea pig program, and took on the responsibility of serving as our head beekeeper. Her willingness to explore new opportunities and take initiative has left a lasting legacy on our chapter.

๐Ÿ… Joanna Duranโ€“ Junior
Although Joanna joined our chapter after transferring from another county this year, she quickly became an invaluable part of our FFA family. She served as a chapter officer, exhibited a Brahman heifer at countless jackpot shows across the state, and exhibited her swine project at the Florida State Fair, where she qualified as a top individual in the Champion Youth Program. Her dedication and enthusiasm for Leadership Development and Personal Growth have made a tremendous difference in a very short time.

๐Ÿ… Averie Kimelton- Junior
Averie has represented our chapter through her involvement in livestock exhibition, leadership, and competitive events. She exhibited her swine projects, served as a chapter officer, and competed as a member of our National Horse Judging Team. Her commitment to personal growth and career success embodies the spirit of FFA.

Earning the Florida FFA State Degree is a significant accomplishment that reflects years of hard work, dedication, and service. We are incredibly proud of Heather, Joanna, and Averie for reaching this milestone and representing Brooksville Sr FFA with excellence.

Please join us in congratulating these outstanding members on this well-deserved recognition!

๐ŸŒŸCourtesy Corps Members๐ŸŒŸ

We would like to recognize two outstanding Brooksville Sr FFA members, Kaitlin Fowble and Lillian Williams, who were selected through a competitive application process to serve on the Florida FFA Courtesy Corps during the 98th Florida FFA State Convention & Expo.

Courtesy Corps members play a vital role in the success of the convention by assisting with sessions and competitions, welcoming and guiding members and special guests, working in the FFA Mall and Expo, and helping ensure that thousands of attendees have a positive convention experience. Their service often happens behind the scenes, but it is essential to making the event run smoothly.

Kaitlin and Lillian represented our chapter with professionalism, leadership, and a servantโ€™s heart throughout the week. Their willingness to dedicate their time and energy to supporting others is a true reflection of the final line of the FFA Motto: **โ€œLiving to Serve.โ€**

Please join us in congratulating Kaitlin and Lillian on this incredible accomplishment and thanking them for their commitment to leadership, service, and the FFA organization!

๐ŸŒŸ FFA State Convention โ€“ Day 4 ๐ŸŒŸ

A little late posting this oneโ€”please forgive your very tired ag teacher! After a long week at convention and being locked in on getting everyone home safely, we were all focused on one thing: our beds. ๐Ÿ˜ด

Yesterday marked our final day at the Florida FFA State Convention! We started the morning with our last general session, reflecting on all of the memories, experiences, friendships, and lessons we gained throughout the week. We arrived early and took advantage of the extra time the best way we knew howโ€”a quick power nap! As you'll see in the photos, our students managed to fall asleep, during a laser light show, while their "old" ag teacher was still awake. I guess these young whipper snappers just couldn't keep up! ๐Ÿ˜‚ (Donโ€™t worry they were sat up straight, eyes propped open the second the session started)

This week was also extra special because we got to celebrate two birthdays during convention. We would like to wish a very happy 18th birthday to our State Degree recipient, Heather Cecil! ๐ŸŽ‰ We also celebrated our advisor's birthday. As you can see from the cupcakes, the students thoughtfully provided candles displaying her age: 1,100 years old. We aren't sure where they got that number, but we are pretty sure she was raising dinosaurs before livestock. ๐Ÿง๐Ÿ˜‚

It was the perfect way to wrap up an amazing convention filled with achievements, learning, leadership, and fun.

After the session, we headed to Fordโ€™s Garage for a delicious lunch and had the chance to relax and spend some more time together reflecting on our week ๏ฟผbefore beginning our journey home.

We made it back to Brooksville last night, exhausted but incredibly grateful for the opportunities and experiences this convention provided. Thank you to everyone who helped make this trip possible! We can't wait to bring everything we've learned back to our chapter and put it into action.

Four days, countless memories, lots of laughs, and apparently not enough sleep. ๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŒŸ

๐ŸŒŸ Days 2 & 3 โ€“ Florida FFA State Convention ๐ŸŒŸ
The last two days have been packed with learning, leadership, recognition, and fun as Brooksville FFA continues making the most of the Florida FFA State Convention!
Members participated in a variety of convention activities, including:
๐Ÿ”น Secure the Bag: Credit Like a Boss Student Workshop
๐Ÿ”น MS Parliamentary Procedure Finals
๐Ÿ”น Delegate Business Session
๐Ÿ”น FFA Expo
๐Ÿ”น Ag Science Showcase
๐Ÿ”น FFA Mall Visits
๐Ÿ”น General Session 5
๐Ÿ”น Disney Springs
๐Ÿ”น Florida FFA Mega Party
Day 2 was filled with convention activities and opportunities for members to grow as leaders. Students attended workshops, explored the expo, and completed a challenge to connect with other FFA members by learning about at least three different agricultural science projects. That evening, we made a stop at Disney Springs for dinner, where everyone enjoyed a great meal at the Rainforest Cafรฉ. The day ended with a special birthday celebration for Heather Cecil! ๐ŸŽ‚
Day 3 began by recognizing several outstanding Brooksville FFA members for their accomplishments.

๐ŸŒŸ Florida FFA State Convention Day 1 ๐ŸŒŸ

What a day with an amazing group of students! We kicked things off bright and early with a 5:00 AM meet up at school, loaded the van, and headed to Orlando for an exciting first day at State Convention.

Today included:
๐Ÿ„ Ag Issues preliminaries
๐Ÿฅž Brunch at First Watch
๐Ÿ›’ A Walmart essentials run
๐Ÿค Leadership workshops, networking, and Courtesy Corps duty
๐ŸŽค Session 1 and an inspiring keynote speaker
๐ŸŒฎ A VERY large Taco Bell order to end the night

Somewhere in between, we checked into the hotel, learned my room apparently had **no power** (nothing quite like opening the door to complete darkness while carrying a handful of tacos ๐Ÿ˜…), got it fixed, and wrapped up the night making tomorrowโ€™s bingo challenge because these kids completed the first one way too fast!

Most importantly, I continue to be proud of how these students represent our chapter. Theyโ€™ve already been stepping outside their comfort zones, meeting new people, and making connections across the state. Looking forward to another great day tomorrow!

Goodnight from Orlando โ€” here are a few photos from Day 1! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›
