"Why We Become ODD Fellows?"
People become members of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows for many different reasons, but at its heart, Odd Fellowship exists to help ordinary people become better friends, better citizens, and better human beings through service, fellowship, and moral growth.
So...Why We Become Odd Fellows
To build true friendship
In Odd Fellowship, strangers become brothers. The Lodge creates a place where people support one another regardless of status, wealth, or profession.
To practice charity and compassion
The principles of the Order — Friendship, Love, and Truth — encourage members to care for the sick, help the distressed, support widows and orphans, and serve the community.
To improve ourselves
Odd Fellowship teaches humility, honesty, discipline, respect, and kindness. The goal is not just to wear regalia, but to live by the virtues of the Order every day.
To belong to something meaningful
Many join because they seek purpose, brotherhood, tradition, and a sense of belonging in a world that often feels divided and disconnected.
To continue a legacy of service
The Order has a long history of helping humanity. Becoming an Odd Fellow means carrying forward that mission for future generations.
To learn the value of equality
Inside the Lodge, titles and social rank are left outside. Members meet on the level as equals, united by mutual respect and shared principles.
We become Odd Fellows not to be above others, but to serve others. Not merely to wear symbols, but to live their meaning. Not only to gain brothers, but to become one ourselves.
So Be It!👍🤝🔗❤️✋
