Caroline Ongpin is a visual artist working primarily in printmaking. She was the 2025 Marabeth Cohen-Tyler Print/Paper Fellow at Dieu Donné, which followed a year at Tamarind Institute’s Printer Training Program. Caroline is also the owner and lead printer of collaborative lithography studio, Ermitanya Editions located in Brooklyn.

This program is made possible in part with public funds from the NYSCA with the support of the Governor and the New York State Legislature, the National Endowment for the Arts National Endowment f/t Arts, and generous foundation and individual support.

Arts organizations around Downtown Brooklyn are pairing up to share each other’s work with our communities in the and we were lucky enough to be paired with ! We love Smack Mellon’s commitment to supporting artists and wanted to share a bit about their organization with our community. We are sharing three photos from their most recent exhibition including Smack Mellon's Art Ready 2022 Exhibition. Art Ready connects high school aged artists in 10th to 12th grades with New York City’s most innovative and inspiring cultural makers to act as mentors and culminates in a group show.

In their own words ‘Smack Mellon is a nonprofit arts organization located in DUMBO, Brooklyn. Smack Mellon’s mission is to nurture and support emerging, under-recognized mid-career and women artists in the creation and exhibition of new work, by providing exhibition opportunities, studio workspace, and access to equipment and technical assistance for the realization of ambitious projects.’

We are pleased to share three exhibitions:

Please join Dieu Donné for the opening celebration of In Turn: The First Dieu Donné Intern Exhibition on September 19th from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. The interns of every department play a behind-the-scenes but fundamental role in the operations, accessibility, and care of our studio and collection. This exhibition is a reminder that for many of them, passion for the arts and for the organizations which create, house, and sell art, such as Dieu Donné, is rooted in or strengthened by their own personal artistry.

Join us on Tues, 8/30 for a lunchtime webinar at 1pm with Anela Ming-Yue Oh, our 2021-2022 West Bay View Fellow, in conversation with Amy Jacobs, Dieu Donné Senior Director of Artistic Projects. Anela is a multidisciplinary artist who works across papermaking, ceramics, and fiber. She is currently an Artist-in-Residence at Arrowmont School of Craft. Join us to learn more about her artistic growth in our studio and her vibrant, joyful artworks!
