Bink International Charity Annual Back-to-School & Toys Giveaway

Date: August 22, 2026
Location: Oval Park, East Orange, New Jersey

Overview

Bink International Charity successfully hosted its Annual Back-to-School and Toys Giveaway, bringing together families, community leaders, and partners for a day dedicated to supporting children and preparing them for the upcoming school year. The event saw an overwhelming turnout, with a long line of families eagerly waiting to be served—clear evidence of both the need within the community and the trust placed in our organization.

Impact & Distribution

We are proud to report that a total of 504 backpacks —equivalent to 21 boxes of 24 backpacks each—were distributed to children in attendance. Each backpack was thoughtfully filled with essential school supplies to ensure students are well-equipped for academic success.

In addition to school supplies, hundreds of toys were distributed, bringing joy and excitement to every child. Thanks to our generous partners, each child received both a backpack and toys, making the experience both practical and memorable.

Parents were not left out. Each family received a goody bag containing bath, body care, and beauty products such as perfume, shampoo, sunscreen lotion, home fragrance items, and T-shirts. In addition, the goody bags also included electronics such as phone chargers and screen protectors, further supporting families with useful everyday essentials.

We are especially proud to have exceeded our goal of serving at least 500 children, a milestone that reflects the dedication of our team and the strength of our community partnerships.

Acknowledgment of Donors & Partners

This event would not have been possible without the generous support of our donors and community partners. We extend our sincere gratitude to:

Marine Toys for Tots Foundation for donating the toys that brought smiles to so many children
Bath & Body Works for providing high-quality bath and beauty products for families
General Merchandise for clothing donations
Amazon for supplying a variety of essential and miscellaneous items
KIPP Schools for tabling at the event and sharing valuable resources and useful information with students and parents

Their contributions and presence played a critical role in making this event impactful and successful.

Special Guests & Community Leaders

We were honored by the presence and support of distinguished officials and community leaders who joined us for this special occasion:

Madam Estelle Pelagie Segda Gango, Consul General of the Consulate of Burkina Faso in New York
Mr. Abasse Nignan, Délégué of the Haut Conseil des Burkinabè of New Jersey, along with his team
Mr. Désiré Conbomgo, President of the Association of Burkinabè of New Jersey, and his team
Amb. Didi Dior Fall, President and CEO of 1000 Shades of Women Foundation
Madam Yasmine Ouedraogo, CEO and Founder of Yasmine Beauty Salon
Mrs. Lakina L. Rollins, Program Manager of the Homeless Prevention Response Division, City of East Orange, New Jersey
Maleicks Bee Foundation and its team
Representatives from Burkinabè in Action (BBIA)

Their presence reinforced the importance of community collaboration and support for initiatives that uplift families.

Conclusion

The 2026 Back-to-School and Toys Giveaway was a tremendous success, marked by strong community engagement, impactful distribution, and meaningful partnerships. The visible turnout and long lines of families waiting to be served highlighted both the demand and the difference this event continues to make.

Bink International Charity remains committed to its mission of empowering communities, supporting families, and creating opportunities for children to thrive. We look forward to continuing this work and expanding our reach in the years to come.

Successful Participation in the East Orange Back-to-School Family Festival
Event: Back-to-School Family Festival
Date: Thursday, July 30
Time: 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Location: Outside East Orange City Hall, 44 City Hall Plaza, East Orange, NJ 07018
Our organization was honored to participate in the Back-to-School Family Festival hosted by Mayor Ted R. Green, U.S. Representative LaMonica McIver, and the East Orange City Council. The event brought together families, students, community organizations, and local leaders to celebrate the upcoming school year while providing valuable educational resources and support to the residents of East Orange.

The festival was a tremendous success, attracting hundreds of families from throughout the community. Throughout the four-hour event, our team proudly served approximately 500 children, parents, and community members, helping ensure that students begin the new academic year equipped with essential school supplies and encouragement.

Supporting Students for a Successful School Year
Our booth remained busy from the moment the event opened until its conclusion at 7:00 PM. Families formed steady lines throughout the afternoon, reflecting the tremendous need for school supplies and community support. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as children proudly selected backpacks, school essentials, and fun giveaways while parents learned about available community resources.
Students received a variety of educational supplies, including:

School bags and backpacks
Notebooks
Rulers
Pencils
Pencil sharpeners
Glue sticks
School folders
Water bottles
Treats and children's giveaways
These supplies will help students return to the classroom prepared, confident, and ready to learn.
Supporting Parents and Families
Recognizing that preparing for a new school year impacts the entire family, our organization also distributed a wide variety of practical household and personal care items to parents and caregivers, including:
Sunscreen lotions
Sunscreen sprays
Perfumes and fragrances
Clothing items
Home scents
Shampoos
Conditioners
Phone chargers
Phone screen protectors
Label makers
Additional family giveaways
These items were warmly received and helped reduce some of the financial burden many families experience during the back-to-school season.
Building Community Connections
In addition to distributing supplies, our volunteers had the opportunity to engage with families, answer questions, and connect residents with available community resources. The festival highlighted the importance of collaboration among government leaders, nonprofit organizations, businesses, and community partners in creating opportunities for children and families.
The event also featured community resource organizations, advocacy programs, educational information, children's activities, and entertainment, creating a welcoming environment where families could prepare for the school year while enjoying an afternoon of community fellowship.

A Day of Service and Impact
The large crowds at our table throughout the afternoon demonstrated the positive impact of this initiative. Seeing children smiling with their new backpacks and school supplies while parents expressed appreciation for the additional household items reinforced our commitment to serving the community.
Our dedicated volunteers worked tirelessly to organize materials, greet families, distribute supplies efficiently, and ensure that every visitor felt welcomed and supported. Their professionalism and compassion were instrumental in making our participation a success.

Appreciation
We extend our sincere appreciation to Mayor Ted R. Green, U.S. Representative LaMonica McIver, and the East Orange City Council for organizing such an outstanding community event and for providing local organizations with the opportunity to serve alongside so many dedicated partners.
We also thank our volunteers, supporters, donors, and community partners whose generosity made it possible to provide meaningful assistance to hundreds of families.

Looking Ahead
Our organization remains committed to supporting children, youth, and families through educational initiatives, community outreach, and resource distribution. Participating in the East Orange Back-to-School Family Festival reaffirmed the power of partnerships and community service in helping students start the school year with confidence and hope.
Serving approximately 500 children and adults during this event was both a privilege and an inspiration. We look forward to continuing our mission of empowering families and strengthening our community through future outreach programs and collaborative initiatives.

Together, we are building stronger families, stronger schools, and a stronger community—one child, one family, and one act of service at a time.

Happy New Week, y’all! 💜

Let’s continue to spread love, kindness, and care wherever we go. You never know how much a simple act of kindness or a smile can mean to someone. ❤️

This past Saturday, Bink International Charity had the pleasure of joining Maleicks Bee – Little Angels for their beautiful Block Party for Kids and Families at 432 E 162nd Street in the Bronx.

As always, it was a wonderful opportunity for our team to come together with other community partners, families, and children to share smiles, create memories, and serve our community. From free school supplies and giveaways to food, drinks, games, activities, music, and plenty of positive energy, the event was truly a celebration of community and togetherness.

But this event was especially meaningful for us because of an unexpected and heartwarming show of teamwork. Our Bink International Charity team had the wonderful support of NYPD officers who stepped in to help us serve families and distribute the giveaways.

Seeing community members, nonprofit organizations, and law enforcement working side by side to serve children and families was truly special. Moments like these remind us that when we come together with a common purpose, we can make an even greater impact.

A BIG THANK YOU to Mariama Fisher, CEO of Maleicks Bee – Little Angels, for inviting Bink International Charity to collaborate and be part of this beautiful event. We sincerely appreciate the opportunity to partner with you and your organization in creating positive experiences and bringing resources, joy, and support to our communities.

To the NYPD officers who assisted our team, thank you for your support and for helping us make the giveaway run smoothly. Your willingness to lend a hand and serve alongside us was greatly appreciated! 🙏🏾

And of course, thank you to every volunteer, partner, family, and community member who helped make the day a success.

Bink International Charity is always at your service.
Together, let’s keep building stronger communities, one act of kindness at a time.
