Honestly? We weren’t sure anyone was going to show up.

The 24 was a swing. A 24-hour pickleball tournament. 5 courts, one straight overnight grind. We didn’t know if the idea would resonate.

Then it did. Clubs from across the city said yes. Brands we admire said yes. Players from neighborhoods we couldn’t have reached on our own crossed bridges to be here. And every entry puts a little bit toward Pickleball for Parkinson’s, which is the part that makes the all-night soreness make sense.

To every team, partner, and person tagged below: thank you. You turned a crazy idea into something the whole city decided to throw together.

The clock starts now. ⏱️

The 24 is here - 24 hours of pickleball, 5 courts, 15 teams, one champion. May 1, 7PM → May 2, 7PM at 262 Van Brunt St.

⬢ RUN OF SHOW
6:00 PM — Team captains check in
6:45 PM — Opening ceremony + speeches
7:00 PM — Tournament begins. Live music kicks off.
All night — Energy drinks, electrolytes, snacks fueling the floor
9:00 AM (Sat) — Roto Coffee rolls in for the dawn shift
7:00 PM (Sat) — 24 hours later, we crown a champion

⬢ HOW TO SCORE
Win a game = 3 pts
Lose a game = 1 pt
Bonus pts: best win % at the end + most games played

⬢ PRIZE
24% of the total prize pool to the winning team — plus special surprise prizes.

⬢ FORMAT
Round robin matchups are preset. Captains, your full schedule drops to you tomorrow morning so you can plan around your assigned slots.

Meet The Lobsters 🦞 — a fearless 8-player squad taking on The 24 tournament on May 1, all in support of .

With a full 24 hours of play ahead, they’ll be rotating in shifts to keep energy high and performance sharp. That means the night owls who thrive at 3AM will be holding it down on the court, while those who don’t quite shine in the middle of the night will be recharging —getting the rest they need to come back strong for the early morning shifts. It’s all about playing to each teammate’s strengths and staying fresh from start to finish.

We’re expanding the max roster size.
Teams can now register up to 16 players for The 24.

Why the change? Simple: flexibility.

If you’ve been on the fence because you didn’t want to commit to 4–5 hours of play, this opens the door. With a full roster, you could play just 2–3 hours total, rotate in for your shifts, and still be part of the run.

It also makes it easier to build a team—more friends, more subs, more ways to stay fresh deep into the night.

The tradeoff?
Yes—you’ll be splitting the prize with more teammates.

But for a lot of teams, that’s worth it to make The 24 more accessible, more social, and a lot more manageable.

Meet Coach Rob. A former 4-year varsity high school tennis player, he’s been dedicated to racquet sports ever since and discovered pickleball in 2024, quickly rising to compete in advanced leagues and tournaments. Known for his monster forehand drive, Rob coaches at multiple locations around the city and also volunteers with Pickleball for Parkinson’s, bringing energy, focus, and a passion for helping players of all levels improve their game.
