The wait is over. Tickets for Brooklyn's free summer theater are now available.

Molière in the Park invites you to experience DON JUAN — legendary French playwright Molière’s most subversive masterpiece. A feverish descent from seduсtion to reckoning, DON JUAN blends comedy, tragedy, and the supernatural, pushing Molière’s lifelong exploration of hypоcrisy and mоrality further than any of his other works.

The free performances will feature live original cello music by Drama Desk nominated composer Johnathan Moore.

A wonderful afternoon was had at the 2026 Black Women on Broadway Awards celebrating the extraordinary women shaping our industry.

We were especially proud to cheer on Molière in the Park’s own Alana Raquel Bowers (The Miser), recipient of the Florence Mills Shining Star Award. Congratulations as well to fellow honorees Whitney White, Destiny Lilly, and Debra Martin Chase.

There were many members of the Molière in the Park family in attendance, including Crystal Lucas-Perry (pen/man/ship), Maechi Aharanwa (The Misanthrope), Lakisha Michelle May (The Miser), Margaret Odette (The Imaginary Cuсkold), Naomi Lorraine (The Imaginary Invalid), Shayvawn Webster Mitchell (The Imaginary Invalid), and Board Chair Kaliswa Brewster (Tartuffe).

Thank you to for creating such a joyful space to celebrate artistry, leadership, and community.

How do you make a room full of modern day American students burst out laughing at a 400 year old French play? Can you create an accessible and engaging traslation, and honor the nuances of the playwright's intention at the same time?

This May, Molière in the Park's Lucie Tiberghien, Kaliswa Brewster, Naomi Lorrain, and Daniel Pearce visited Dartmouth College's Department of Arts and Humanities to discuss our approach to Molière's legendary works. Over the course of two days, Lucie has shared her experience adapting and translating Molière for a modern U.S. audience, while the actors presented a number of play excerpts.

The visit was organized by Professor of French Studies Faith Beasley, who has shared many of MIP's digital productions with her students over the years. Thank you to Professor Beasley and to Dartmouth College for having us!

Read the article on the visit and learn more about educational opportunities with MIP in our bio.

In June 1643, at just 21, Molière decided to abandon his social class and a budding law career, and joined a troupe under the name of Illustre-Théâtre. The troupe went bankrupt just two years later.

After a stint in jаil for dеbt as the Illustre-Théâtre leader, Molière left Paris. With Molière's Company (Troupe de Molière and later Troupe du Roy), he spent the next thirteen years traveling through provincial France.

This is a somewhat foggy, yet incredibly important period of Molière's life, during which the young actor penned his first few plays.
