Last Friday, New Women New Yorkers proudly celebrated the graduation of our ECMR Green Building Training Program, and it was truly an emotional and inspiring milestone.

Congratulations to our 22 graduates, who successfully completed the program and earned both their Energy Technician Certificate and the BPI Building Science Principles (BSP) Certificate!

It was incredibly special to celebrate this achievement and reflect on the journey these participants have taken over the past months. We witnessed their commitment, resilience, and determination as they embraced new technical skills, supported one another, and persevered through every challenge. Seeing them cross the graduation stage today was a powerful reminder of what is possible when talent meets opportunity.

A heartfelt thank-you to our incredible partner, the CUNY Building Performance Lab, for making this program possible. We are grateful for your collaboration, expertise, and dedication to preparing immigrant women for careers in the growing green building and clean energy industries.

At New Women New Yorkers, we believe in creating intentional moments to step away, recharge, and reconnect. Each year, we take two collective breaks—one during the summer and one at the end of the year—to make space for rest and renewal.

Next week, our entire team will be offline as we pause, reflect, and restore after a meaningful and impactful first half of the year. These shared moments of rest allow us to return with renewed energy, fresh perspective, and inspiration for the work ahead.

We’ll be back on July 13 and can’t wait to continue this journey with you.

New Women New Yorkers is seeking a Community Outreach & Engagement Member through the NYC Civic Corps program to support immigrant women’s access to workforce development and community resources across NYC.

Core engagement includes:
-Community outreach and partnership building
-Support for workshops and community events
-Connecting immigrant women to workforce resources
-Amplifying programs across NYC communities

Ideal profile:
-Interest in community development and immigrant empowerment
-Strong communication and relationship-building skills
-Multilingual abilities (Spanish, French, Mandarin, etc. valued)

Service benefits:
$24,500 stipend
$5,176 education award

We All Come From Somewhere brought together storytellers sharing journeys of migration, identity, and belonging, each different, all truthful and authentic.

Through spoken word and personal narrative, we were reminded of the power of sharing our stories and listening to one another.

Ever taken the ferry to Governors Island? It's one of our favorite parts of summer in NYC, and now there's another reason to go.

Tucked inside House 410A is our NWNY Artist Residency, a free studio and event space where immigrant women artists create and share their work with the public through open studios and special exhibitions.

The space also hosts arts & storytelling workshops open to everyone; it's a place for the whole community to come learn, create, and connect.
