Crack The Walls As a previously incarcerated citizen, I know well of the traumas endured daily on the inside.

We envision a justice system that rehabilitates instead of punishes, where the dignity and humanity of every person is honored — inside and outside prison walls. MISSION STATEMENT
Crack The Walls is a nonprofit dedicated to transforming the prison system by advocating for humane treatment, mental health-focused officer training, and restorative rehabilitation. We support individuals who have endured abuse or tragedy within the justice system, providing them with healing resources, reintegration programs, and a powerful platform to be heard. VISION STATEMENT

🚨 AN ARREST IS NOT A CONVICTION.

Someone can be arrested. Someone can be charged. Someone can even spend time in jail—and still not have been convicted of the crime they're accused of committing.

That's why the presumption of innocence and the government's burden of proof matter.

Justice requires a process.

⚖️ JUSTICE DOESN’T BEGIN AT THE PRISON GATE.

It begins with arrest, due process, bail, plea decisions, trial—and ultimately, what happens when someone comes home.

A justice system should hold people accountable without losing sight of their humanity.

If we want safer communities, we have to talk about what actually works: education, mental-health support, employment, stable housing, family connection, and meaningful reentry.

Because a second chance isn't just good for the person receiving it—it can be good for all of us.

Coming home is only the beginning. People returning from incarceration need opportunities, support, housing, education, employment, and a community willing to see their potential—not just their past.

Successful reentry doesn't just change individual lives. It strengthens families, reduces barriers, and builds stronger communities.

🧱 INCARCERATION DOESN’T ONLY AFFECT THE PERSON BEHIND THE WALLS.

It affects parents, spouses, children, siblings, and entire families.

The missed birthdays. The long drives. The expensive calls. The financial strain. The empty seat at the table. The moments that can never be replaced.

Families serve a sentence too—without ever being sentenced.

At Crack The Walls, we believe meaningful justice and reform must recognize the people affected on both sides of the wall.
