Malcolm-Jamal Warner, best known as Theo Huxtable, from The Cosby Show, has tragically died and gone to meet the ancestors on July 20, 2025 from an accidental drowning while on vacation in Costa Rica.

When speaking about racial equity we often think about money and assets. However, Malcolm’s currency was his sheer talent and ability to relate to audiences as a young man who came into his own on television who happened to be Black. And later, he starred in numerous television shows such as Malcolm & Eddie, Reed Between the Lines, The Resident and also directed episodes of The Cosby Show, All That, Kenan & Kel, and Malcolm & Eddie.

Malcolm summed up the vast contributions that The Cosby Show had on Black economic life in a 2023 People interview when he said, ““The show shed light on the previously ignored Black middle class, which has always existed...people in Cliff and Claire’s generation were often the first in their families to ever go to college, many of them becoming doctors and lawyers, like Barack and Michelle Obama. There’s even an argument that the show laid the groundwork for having a Black President of the United States, he noted.”

REST IN POWER Malcolm.

We honor the life and work of former U.S. Congressman Charles B. Rangel, who passed away on May 26. A fearless advocate and champion for civil rights, he served in Congress for 40 years, was co-founder of the Congressional Black Caucus and rose to Chair the House Ways and Means Committee.

Decorated war veteran. Patriot. Statesman. These are just several among his countless achievements but most of all, he will be greatly remembered for his commitment to his home district of Harlem and his efforts to close the racial divide.

Rest in Power Mr. Rangel.

Have you heard about 's exciting new proposal? She’s calling for New York’s first-ever Inflation Refund. With all the inflation on the price of everyday goods in recent years, sales tax has been going up too – and the Governor wants to take that extra money and give it right back to New Yorkers like you! Her plan would send a $300 payment to each New York taxpayer making less than $150,000 per year, and a $500 payment to each New York family making less than $300,000 per year. That means an Inflation Refund for 8.6 million New Yorkers!
