AMA Animal Rescue AMA Animal Rescue is a New York State 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill animal rescue shelter based in Brooklyn.

Angels for Mistreated Animals or AMA Animal Rescue is a Brooklyn based, no-kill animal shelter. After obtaining a New York State 501(c)3 status in 2014, the organization’s mission has always been to safeguard and rehabilitate animals who have experienced the most severe cases of abuse, neglect, and abandonment. Since its inception, AMA has saved countless sick, injured, and abused pet companions from near death, domestically and abroad. After an incredible amount of generosity from their supporters throughout the years, AMA has achieved its long term goal of opening its doors to a 1200sq ft space with clean enclosures and a fenced in outdoor space. Through efficient operations, adequate awareness, and public support, AMA continues to create loving futures and erase painful pasts.

🆘 BELLA HAS PAINFUL ULCERS IN BOTH EYES! PLEASE HELP TODAY! 🆘

At 13 years old, Bella has already lost so much: her owner, her home, and her sight. With multiple medical issues, this sweet senior has endured more than any dog should.

But recently, Bella began squinting in terrible pain. We rushed her to the hospital, where doctors discovered painful, non-healing ulcers in BOTH eyes! These open wounds put her at risk of serious infection and require urgent treatment by an eye specialist.

Bella needs to undergo diamond burr debridement, a specialized procedure to remove damaged tissue and help her eyes heal. She will also need medications, follow-up visits, and potentially further surgery if her eyes don’t heal.

Bella has already lost her vision. We cannot let her spend her remaining years suffering in pain.

Emergency visits, specialist fees, procedures, and medications are adding up fast, and we desperately need your help covering the cost of her care.

This 3-year-old, 9-pound girl was left in a cardboard box behind the garbage almost a year ago now, but she hasn’t let that stop her from being a total sweetheart. She’s friendly, loves greeting her favorite people, gives the best head bumps, and is always ready to lounge around with you. And yes, she comes with a very distinguished little gray mustache.😏

💔 154 DAYS IN OUR CARE. JACK IS STILL WAITING FOR HIS FOREVER HOME.💔

When we rescued Jack, he was completely shut down and terrified, ready to flee or bite at the slightest movement. After months of love, patience, and TLC, Jack has finally learned to trust again. He now wags his tail, eagerly seeks attention, and has even learned how to play with toys!

But despite his incredible transformation, Jack continues to be overlooked. He has come so far, and all he needs now is a family to give him the love he deserves.

Remember Josie, the senior cat who was abandoned outside our shelter in a carrier just a couple of weeks ago?

When she arrived, she was dirty, extremely shut down, and barely eating. We initially feared she was sick, but after extensive veterinary testing, it became clear that poor Josie was just depressed from everything she had been through.

Thanks to your generous donations, we were able to provide her with excellent medical care. And we have wonderful news! Josie is now in a loving foster home where she can finally decompress, feel safe, and recover from the trauma of being abandoned.

Now, all she needs is a forever home!
