🚨Staten Island/Brooklyn - FOSTER is desperately needed for this sweet boy with the ringworm 🚨

I know it’s a long shot, but this baby desperately needs help. He was trapped by the independent trapper, when the homeowner spotted the new kitten and asked for help with TNR. Once he was trapped, the trapper realized that there were three reasons for him not to be a candidate for TNR - first of all he’s too young, secondly he was extremely sick and thirdly he turned out to be the sweetest purring boy.

The trapper was able to find a safe place for him to stay while he was recovering from upper respiratory infection and while she’s looking for the rescue for him, but unfortunately he now also has developed the ringworm and cannot stay where he is now.

We are absolutely full, but will take him under the rescue if someone can foster this mushy boy and follow the ringworm treatment protocol, which involves 5 weeks of treatment.

If you are able to help, please complete the foster application using the link below ⬇️

A little update on one of our FIP cats Homer aka Homerette 🐈‍⬛🥰

Some of you may remember this poor girl from the middle of August, who was found outside by a wonderful family who tried their best to find any help for her. She was sick, tired, skin and bones and fully blind. One of our volunteers was able to safely secure Homer and we rushed her to the hospital, where she was diagnosed with the ocular FIP.

We are incredibly lucky to watch how well she’s responding to the treatment 🙏. Will she ever see again? We don’t have an answer to this question yet, but she adjusted to her blindness. She is a sweet lady, she loves the food, but still thinks it might be her last meal for the day. She is used to going back to see the doctor and not only takes her pills as a champ, but she now also needs the eye drops to be applied 7-8 times a day due to the high pressure in her right eye. Her eyes are looking better overall.

Homerette still has a long road ahead for her recovery, but we hope that there will be a miracle and someone will adopt this sweet lady, who desperately needs her own family 🐈‍⬛❤️

Thank you again everyone who donated towards her care! We will be extremely grateful if anyone else can contribute towards her bills or simply share her story. Once the cat is diagnosed with FIP, it’s not only one time expensive diagnostics and the medication for 84 days treatment, but it also involves vet visits every 14 to 28 days, bloodwork rechecks and in some cases like Homerette’s it’s also the extra tests that need to be done and extra medication prescribed and/or the sonograms. But no matter how exhausting it can get, we are happy that now we are able to help the cats to fight this terrible illness.

Thank you all for your continued support 🐈‍⬛🐾❤️!!!

🐈‍⬛❤️ VI IS HOME! And she has a new name — LUCY! ❤️🐈‍⬛

Remember our sweet Vi? The little girl who was adopted from our rescue in 2022 at just 10 weeks old, only to be surrendered to ACC by her family four years later? 💔

Well, we have the BEST update to share!

Sometimes all it takes is one post to change a life! Lucy’s new mama saw her story on social media and immediately fell in love with her. And just like that, our girl got the second chance she so desperately deserved! ❤️

Vi is now Lucy, and not only does she have a wonderful new mama, but she also has a handsome feline brother named Marshall! And judging by these photos, it looks like the two are already on their way to becoming friends! 🥹🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛

To Lucy’s new mama, thank you for opening your heart and home to our girl and giving her a fresh start!

Happy life, sweet Lucy! This time, forever! ❤️🏡

Edit*** - since Amazon Prime’s Deal event is over, all raffle items are now removed from our wishlist.

🐾 Meet Cleo — our third FIP fighter 😭💜

Today we want to introduce you to Cleo, who is currently the third cat under our care battling FIP.

Cleo didn’t officially join our rescue, but when we learned about his situation, we simply couldn’t turn away and took him under our wing.

About two weeks ago, I was contacted by a concerned woman whose friend had a 4-month-old kitten who had suddenly become extremely sick. As soon as I heard the symptoms — wobbliness, loss of appetite, periods of extreme lethargy — and saw his bloodwork, I immediately became concerned that we were most likely dealing with neurological FIP.

Unfortunately, the veterinarian who initially saw Cleo wasn’t able to help and recommended seeing a specialist. Those of us who have sadly dealt with FIP before know how critical it is to start the treatment immediately, so I strongly recommended that the family take him to another veterinarian first thing the following morning.

Then I didn’t hear anything back until last week.

Sadly, Cleo’s family simply didn’t have the financial means to continue with the diagnostics and treatment he desperately needed. They were heartbroken and began looking into surrendering him to a shelter or rescue in hopes that someone could give him a chance.

And this is where things became complicated 😓

We are once again at capacity. Kitten season, never-ending TNR projects, medical cases and bills that continue piling up every single day have left us exhausted and overwhelmed.

We had no open foster home for Cleo — but we knew we could still help.

We got in touch with his owner directly. She was devastated that she couldn’t afford the care needed to give her baby a chance at life. This is also one of the reasons we stress so strongly to our adopters how important it is to consider pet insurance — whether you are adopting a kitten or an adult cat. Emergencies can happen when we least expect them.

Since Cleo already has a loving home and we didn’t have an available foster, we offered to help get him the treatment he needed as quickly as possible while allowing him to remain with his family.

Cleo was seen by a veterinarian, and unfortunately our concerns were confirmed. Not only does he have neurological FIP, but he is now showing ocular involvement as well.

He has started treatment and is staying where he belongs — with his mom and his two siblings. ❤️

It is going to be a long road, with treatment, regular veterinary visits and bloodwork rechecks along the way. But we are staying positive and hoping with everything we have that this handsome young man responds well and gets the chance to grow up. 🙏

We will also be helping Cleo’s mom get his two siblings vetted as soon as possible.

🛒 And today, our ask is a little different from our usual fundraising posts.

Since Amazon’s Prime Deal event is happening right now and ends tonight, we temporarily added several items to our Amazon Wishlist that we can use to create raffle baskets for our future fundraising events.

Raffles are an important part of helping us raise money for cats like Cleo and our many other medical cases. If we can stock up on some of these items while they’re discounted, it means less money our rescue will have to spend later — and more of our funds can stay where they’re needed most: helping the cats. 🐾

If you’d like to help us today, please take a peek at our Wishlist. Even one item purchased for a future raffle basket makes a difference.

And as always, whether you donate, purchase something from our Wishlist, share Cleo’s story or simply send this little guy some positive thoughts — thank you for always standing behind us and the cats who need us 🐈🐈‍⬛🐾🧡

💔 RIP, our sweet Sereja. 💔

I needed time to put this post together. And I don’t want to lie and say that we are strong, or that after doing rescue for so long we somehow learn to accept the good and the bad 24/7. I don’t…we don’t.

I am still tearing up while writing this post.

Two days ago, devastation came to our rescue once again. Our mush, our sweet, handsome, silly boy Sereja gained his wings and left for a better world. A world free of pain and suffering. A world where no human will ever betray him again 😭💔

Sereja came to our rescue in August 2025.

One of our volunteers spotted him sitting in the bushes at one of our managed colonies. Something about him immediately told her that this was not a feral cat. No feral cat would sit there like that, almost crying to be noticed and asking someone to help him.

She gently picked him up and placed him into the carrier she always keeps in her trunk.

Sereja looked like he had recently been beaten up. There were also older, healed wounds on his body. We didn’t know where he came from or what his life had been before that moment. But despite everything, this incredibly sweet boy still trusted people.

And then the next day came the news we were not prepared for.

Sereja tested positive for FeLV — feline leukemia.

As a rescue, we know all too well what those words can mean. But we desperately held onto the hope that perhaps it was a false positive. We took the next step and had a qPCR test performed. Those were some of the longest hours.

The results confirmed what we were afraid of: Sereja was progressively infected with FeLV.

He was only about two years old 😞.

We couldn’t tell him how much time he had. Days? Weeks? Months? Maybe, if we were lucky, a couple of years.

But we could make him one promise:

However much time you have, Sereja, you will be loved and spoiled every single day of it.

And that is exactly what happened. ❤️

Sereja also had dental disease, but considering his FeLV status and bloodwork, his doctors felt that putting him through a dental procedure carried too much risk. He received courses of antibiotics when needed, and most importantly, he had a wonderful hospice family watching over him, loving him and making sure every day that he was comfortable.

And our boy gave us 12½ beautiful months.

For 12½ months, Sereja wasn’t the abandoned cat sitting in the bushes anymore. Our boy had a home
and warm beds and the toys and plenty of delicious food and treats and most importantly he had people to love, the humans who worried about him, spoiled him, laughed at his silly personality.

Nothing seemed concerning until last week, when Sereja suddenly refused to eat and became lethargic. The next few days were a roller coaster of hope and fear.

And then Monday night, Sereja had a seizure.

His foster family rushed him to the ER, but in our hearts, we already knew. 😓

Our precious boy passed away surrounded by his favorite humans — two mamas, who loved him until his very last breath, no matter how painful it was for them to say goodbye.

We all cried that night.

And we are still crying today.

But through these tears, I keep reminding myself and his foster family Sereja did not die alone in those bushes.

He left this world knowing what it felt like to be someone’s baby and maybe that is the greatest gift rescue was able to give him.

I know our precious boy is finally at peace, and I hope somewhere, somehow, he is watching over his foster mamas who gave him the life he deserved.

We loved you, Sereja.

We will never forget you.

And we will forever be grateful that you found your way into our lives.

Rest peacefully, our sweet, silly, funny mush. ❤️

RIP Sereja. 🌈🐾
Until we meet again. ❤️❤️❤️

The names say it all 🤦🏻‍♀️! These were the longest 72 sleepless hours… Mama Olympia was already spayed and vaccinated today. She also needed to have some bloodwork done, but she’s now safely recovering after the surgery. And these little “houdinis” are finally reunited 😅!
