NHAD has planted approximately one hundred papaya trees on the farm in L’Azile, Haiti and these are expected to be harvested and distributed to local merchants very soon. We thank all of our supporters who made this possible.

We are pleased to inform our supporters that NHAD has added 100 additional lime plants to the lime farm in L’Azile, Haiti. They were donated by a member of the Board in Haiti. Meanwhile, vegetable harvesting, including hot peppers and green peppers is ongoing. Thank you all for your continued support of the organization and a special thank you to our board member for his generous donation.

We at NHAD know that everyone in the world has been affected by this deadly (COVID 19) virus one way or another. We know some of you are still fighting the virus either at home, in a hospital or a nursing home and other facilities; some of you lost loved ones; some lost your job and can’t pay your mortgage or rent or other utility bills as a result; some can’t see your loved ones with fear of contracting the virus or transmitting it to them; we can’t physically meet to worship for worship services; and the list goes on and on.

Despite all that is going on, we want to encourage you all not to be dismayed. God is God and He will to take care of His children. He makes provisions for us and we should stay strong no matter what comes our way. Be strong in the Lord!

As previously reported, NHAD has launched a cultivation program at a middle school, Joy House in Gressier, Haiti. The school has approximately two hundred students. The NHAD team, led by the agronomists had a series of planting events, while providing the students education about agriculture and having them participate at a vegetable nursery project. The goal of the project is for the youth to promote agriculture to the younger generation to help improve people’s living condition in Haiti. Each student will adopt at least one plant to care for until it reaches maturity and it will eventually be his or hers.

NHAD is about to launch one of its newest projects for the year 2020 in L’Azile, Haiti. It’s a fruit program, starting with a papaya farm in addition to the vegetable and lime projects. We are very excited to inform you of this new development, as this will create more job opportunities for the residents who are struggling to survive in different regions in Haiti, as well as benefiting the people who are living there in general. We will keep you posted as there will be more programs to come. Please keep NHAD in your prayers. Thank you.

NHAD wants to thank God for His mercy and the many blessings and applaud all of the guests who attended the 7th annual gala last Saturday, December 28, 2019. Also special thanks to the volunteers, raffle donors, as well as the general donors. The event was a complete success by the grace of the Lord. Congratulations to all of the honorees!

Ongoing vegetable harvest takes place on a weekly basis at NHAD’s farm. Local merchants have been coming and purchasing products at half price. The lime trees are growing and doing well. Thanks to the Lord and all of our supporters.
