Our 2024 Annual Report is here! It feels so good to be on the other side and visualize our growth—through impact metrics, personal stories, and member testimonials that bring the mission to life. It’s a reflection of both the heart and the progress of our work.

We’re incredibly grateful to be at this stage. There are still plenty of hills to climb, but we’re pausing to celebrate this one.

It has taken the support of our unshakable village to get here, and after so many years, we’re honored to be growing together with you. Thank you for sticking with us.

A little bit of Holiday cheer on this toasty summer day. Our new favorite holiday event is Lightscape at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden. First year still might rank at the top of our list with s'mores, fire pits and less people (and just a few us appreciated that last one!). But it never disappoints and the magic it brings with it. Looking forward to going this December.

It was a pleasure to be involved with Grow NYC Youth Market in Brownsville. We met some great neighborhood residents that day and handed out almost 100 reusable tote bags! We encourage everyone to head out and visit if you find yourself in the Brownsville area on Saturdays. The fruits and veggies have a fantastic selection, and it has everything you might need, simplified.

In 2022 we made the trek to Governors Island on the almost coldest day of the year, just to switch things up. The windchill was brutal but we did our best to bask in the sun with hats & gloves, take family portraits with Tanya V and ride bikes (for a very short while, that kicked up the windchill factor quite a bit!) The day ended with a fireside bake with smores however much easier to just do the marshmallows, this way the gloves could stay on.

Apples, more apples, and then some grapes and pumpkins too. Some years have been skipped but it’s always a favorite. Our latest destination is Jenkins - Lueken Orchards in New Paltz, where most of the pictures are from. Enjoy. Nice transport to cooler days …

Almost each year we make our way back to Governor’s Island, where Junket began on that very hot July day. The Island has gone through many transformations over the years, as have we, but our staples remain; biking, Fauzia’s and ice cream. In 2017 we introduced ourselves to Slide Hill, the task – capture ourselves on video all the way down. We might need some more practice on that one. Check out our story!
