The Marine Park Young Adults Association is a grassroots nonprofit service club for young adults ages 18-35 in southern Brooklyn that emphasizes community service and meaningful connections.

The Marine Park Young Adults Association is about more than just young adults. While we create opportunities for young adults to connect, volunteer, and get involved in their community, many of our events and programs are designed to benefit the broader Marine Park and South Brooklyn community and are open to everyone, regardless of age. As part of our social welfare mission, we work to bring neighbors together through free and affordable community programming that encourages connection and creates welcoming spaces for people to meet one another. Join us on Friday, October 30 at Marine Park Coffee for a free Open Community Movie Night featuring Late Night with the Devil. Doors open at 6 PM, and the event is open to all ages. The Marine Park Young Adults Association may be based in Marine Park, but our work extends throughout South Brooklyn, with members from communities across the borough. Join our Marine Park Cleanup Club, a volunteer program of MPYAA, on Sunday, October 25 at 11 AM for a community cleanup at Dyker Park, 86th Street & 14th Avenue in Brooklyn, hosted in partnership with the Liberty Kiwanis Club of Brooklyn.

Volunteers of all ages are welcome to help pick up litter, care for our shared green spaces, beautify the neighborhood, and connect with fellow community members. This is also a great opportunity for students and others looking to earn community service hours, and supplies will be provided. To volunteer, email [email protected] to be added to the list.

While this fundraiser isn’t until November, mark your calendars now! Join us on Monday, November 2, from 3 to 9 PM at IHOP, 2951 Avenue U in Brooklyn, for a Food-Filling Fundraising Event supporting Marine Park Young Adults Association (MPYAA). MPYAA is a grassroots 501(c)(4) social welfare nonprofit serving South Brooklyn through community events, volunteer service projects, environmental initiatives, donation drives, and programs that bring neighbors together, encourage civic engagement, and create opportunities to give back to our community.

Enjoy dinner or takeout and 20% of qualifying sales will be donated to MPYAA to help support our community events, volunteer projects, programs, and other initiatives throughout South Brooklyn. Simply show this flyer at checkout for your order to qualify. No need to print it! Dine-in and to-go orders are eligible, with to-go orders required to be paid for in store. Get ready for a spooky night with the Marine Park Young Adults Association! Join us on Friday, October 23, at Marine Park Coffee (3411 Avenue S, Brooklyn) for our Halloween Movie Night Party! Doors open at 6:00 PM, and we’ll be screening the horror film Obsession, playing board games, and testing your knowledge with Halloween trivia. Come dressed in your Halloween best for our costume contest with prizes!

Young adults ages 18-35 are welcome! Admission is $5 and includes water and soda, with pizza available for $2 per slice. Bring a friend, meet some new people, and celebrate Halloween with your community! RSVP at MPYAA.org. For questions, contact Sam at [email protected].

On Friday, September 18th, the Marine Park Young Adults Association officially kicked off our new program year with our September Crafts & Game Night! During the evening, our members voted to formally adopt our bylaws, helping establish a strong foundation for the Association’s continued growth. We also celebrated our recent recognition as a federally tax-exempt 501(c)(4) social welfare nonprofit. MPYAA began as a social club where young adults could meet, make friends, and build meaningful connections, but we have grown into so much more. Today, we are a grassroots community service club that brings people together through social and cultural events, volunteer projects, environmental stewardship, donation drives, civic engagement, and programs serving southern Brooklyn. Guests celebrated the start of this exciting new chapter by coloring, making crafts, playing board games, enjoying pizza, and spending time together.

A special thank-you, as always, to Nick and Marine Park Coffee for welcoming us and providing a wonderful space for our community, as well as Pizza Emporium for providing the pizza for our event. We also sincerely thank our board members Sam, Taylor, Danielle, and Connor for helping organize the evening and making everything possible. We are proud of how far MPYAA has come and look forward to continuing to grow, serve our neighbors, and create meaningful opportunities for young adults throughout our community. Join the Marine Park Young Adults Association for a relaxed Crafts & Game Night on Friday, September 18, at Marine Park Coffee, located at 3411 Avenue S in Brooklyn. Doors open at 6:00 PM. Spend the evening coloring, working on crafts, playing board games, and meeting other young adults from the community. Come alone or bring a friend, and stay as long as you would like. All craft materials and games will be ready for you, so no supplies or experience are needed.

This event is open to young adults ages 18 to 35 and offers a casual, welcoming way to unwind after the week and connect with new people. Admission is $5 and includes water and soda. The Marine Park Young Adults Association is proud to support families in need throughout our community. The backpacks, notebooks, folders, pencils, and other school supplies collected through our Back to School Drive benefiting Community Heartbeat Foundation were distributed on Tuesday at its giveaway in Coney Island. The distribution supported local children and families, including individuals impacted by domestic violence and members of the general public throughout southern Brooklyn.

MPYAA and Community Heartbeat Foundation are both grassroots nonprofits committed to serving their neighbors and responding directly to local needs. Through this partnership and the generosity of our community, the supplies we collected helped students begin the school year prepared and ready to learn while easing some of the financial pressure of back-to-school shopping. Our drive provided direct and meaningful assistance to people who needed it most.

Today, the Marine Park Young Adults Association heard back from the IRS, and we are officially a federally recognized 501(c)(4) social welfare nonprofit. President and Co-Founder Sam Daniele is proud to have successfully incorporated MPYAA as a New York State not-for-profit organization and secured federal tax-exempt recognition. This status gives us a stronger foundation to promote the common good through community service, environmental stewardship, support for local families, and opportunities for young adults to connect and lead.

Thank you to Wendy Chan, Robert Mazzuchin, Maureen Hyland, Raymond Duffy, Tammy Hyams, Debra Sturm, Angela Ricciardi, Linda Carlson, and our anonymous donors. Special thanks to the Kings Plaza Canarsie Kiwanis Club for its generous donation. Above all, thank you to everyone who has believed in us and supported our mission since June 2024. What began as a castle in the sky has become something real. We built this together, and this is only the beginning.

Join Community Heartbeat Foundation NY, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, for a free Back-to-School Giveaway on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 4:00 PM at 2926 West 19th Street in Brooklyn. Local families are invited, and children will receive free backpacks, school supplies, and reading books to help them begin the school year prepared and ready to learn. Hosted by Mario Caggiano with support from Kiwanis International and other community partners, this event is dedicated to helping every child start the school year successfully.
