Tickets are now live for Live Music at the Gather Inn Again Part III on Friday, May 29th, 2026.

This open community event welcomes the general public, with everyone 18+ invited to attend. The night will feature Kid Nice, a band made up of cousins Thom and Alex, who blend Brooklyn and Arizona roots into a nostalgic, high-energy mix of power pop and indie rock. What began in 2019 as casual jam sessions in Thom’s parents’ home, between rounds of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3, has grown into a project rooted in family, friendship, and the spirit of 90s-inspired music.

Also joining the lineup is Céline Iris, an indie pop/rock artist whose music balances emotional depth with danceable, atmospheric production. Her upcoming debut EP, Acid Kiss, reflects her ability to turn introspective storytelling into something you can move to, drawing inspiration from artists like Tame Impala, Mitski, and Jungle. Her sound was developed alongside her producer and collaborator Michael Spearman through a series of basement recording sessions in Philadelphia.

Doors open at 7:00 PM at The Gather Inn, 2718 Gerritsen Ave. Organized by the Marine Park Young Adults Association, Part III continues to build a growing live music presence in the neighborhood.

This June, the Marine Park Young Adults Association will be turning 2 years old.

Founded in June 2024 by Sam Daniele and Vincent Sinatra with a free movie night at Marine Park Coffee, MPYAA has grown into a civic and social organization for young adults throughout southern Brooklyn.

We now have 23 registered members, an active Board made up of a President, Vice President, two Treasurers, and a Secretary, and members who come from across southern Brooklyn to connect, volunteer, and build community.

Our events include movie nights, game nights, trivia, karaoke, live music, and other social gatherings that help young adults make real connections in the neighborhood. We also organize service projects, including street tree care with NYC Parks, litter pickups, and coat and school supply drives for victims of domestic violence in partnership with the Community Heartbeat Foundation.

MPYAA is incorporated in the State of New York, operates under bylaws passed by our Board, and is currently pursuing 501(c)(4) tax-exempt status as a civic organization. Learn more at: https://www.irs.gov/charities-non-profits/other-non-profits/social-welfare-organizations

We have made major strides over the past two years, and we are continuing to grow. Thank you to everyone who has supported us, attended an event, volunteered, donated, or helped spread the word.

Building Community. Leading Service. Strengthening Marine Park.

On Friday, May 15th, the Marine Park Young Adults Association (MPYAA) held a Board Game & Movie Night at Marine Park Coffee!

We started the night with some smooth jazz and lofi music playing in the background while guests hung out, talked, and played board games. After that, we watched Project Hail Mary for our movie night selection, which won our poll beforehand over 21 Jump Street. It ended up being a great pick, a really fun movie with some amazing visuals.

We had soda, water, chips, and Munchkins from Dunkin’, which one of our members generously brought for everyone to enjoy. Thank you as well to Taylor, our Vice President, for bringing the Coke and Sprite for the night.

A big thank you to Nick and Marine Park Coffee, as always, for the continued partnership and for letting us use the space. We’re grateful to have such a welcoming local third place where people in the community can gather, relax, and connect.

The Marine Park Cleanup Club officially has a new logo, courtesy of our Treasurer, Abdur. We are grateful for his creativity and support in helping give this growing community effort its own identity as we continue organizing neighborhood cleanups in Marine Park.

The Marine Park Cleanup Club is part of the Marine Park Young Adults Association and is open to everyone, not just young adults. Our goal is to host cleanups every month to every two months, bringing neighbors together through shared care for our streets, parks, and public spaces while helping keep Marine Park clean, beautiful, and connected.

On Saturday, May 2nd, the Marine Park Young Adults Association hosted our Open Community Painting Night at Marine Park Coffee with local artist Tim Davis!

As an open community event, this was open to everyone, not just young adults, and it was great seeing neighbors of different ages come together for a relaxed, creative afternoon. Tim guided everyone step by step through a beautiful painting of swans over the water, inspired by the peaceful scenery of Marine Park. He regularly leads painting in Marine Park by the Carmine Carro Center and does great work bringing art, creativity, and community together.

Everyone had a great time painting, listening to lofi music, enjoying donuts from The Donut Shoppe on Avenue U, and spending time together in a welcoming neighborhood space.

Thank you to Tim for leading such a fun class, to Marine Park Coffee for hosting us, to The Donut Shoppe for helping make the afternoon even better, and to everyone who came out to paint, relax, and connect with the community. We look forward to doing this again, possibly in the fall!
