We’re continuing our teaching series “That’s Good For You!” with Part 2: “You Meant It for Evil, God Meant It for Good.”

In Part 1, we dealt with the consequences that can come from seeds we have planted. But Part 2 deals with another kind of pain: what happens when somebody else intentionally hurts us.

Joseph’s own brothers threw him into a pit, sold him into slavery, and lied to their father about him. Yet years later, Joseph was able to tell them, “You meant evil against me, but God meant it for good.”

This lesson reminds us that what people did to you may have been real, painful, and wrong—but it does not get the final word over your life. Their plan cannot cancel God’s purpose. Their betrayal cannot destroy what God has preserved.

Join us as we learn how to release revenge, get out of God’s seat, and trust Him to use what was meant to hurt us for His greater good.

We’re kicking off our new series “That’s Good For You!” with Lesson 1: “You Had That Coming.”

This lesson is about the reality of sowing and reaping—how our choices eventually grow into a harvest we have to face. Galatians 6:7–8 reminds us that we reap what we sow, but Romans 8:28 gives us hope that even when consequences are painful, God can still work all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.

This is not a message about shame. It’s a message about mercy. Even when we’ve made choices that brought hard consequences, God can use that season to humble us, correct us, and make us better. Join us as we learn how to stop wasting what hurt us and let God redeem it for our growth.

We’ve reached the finale of our series “Talk to the Hand – When Pride Blocks the Word.”

In Part 1, we saw Naaman almost miss his healing because offense and pride made him resist a simple, humbling word. In Part 2, we walked with Balaam, whose desire and love of gain kept him revisiting what God had already made clear.

This week in Part 3: “When Hardened Hearts Stop Hearing,” we’re looking at what happens when that kind of resistance goes on long enough that our hearts start to harden. A hardened heart doesn’t just dislike what God is saying—it begins to lose the ability to truly hear, respond, and be changed by His word.

We’ll explore how a hard heart develops, why God sometimes allows us to sit in the consequences of repeatedly saying “no,” and how His mercy still invites us to repent while there’s time. This is a sobering word, but it’s also a hopeful one: God can break up hard ground and make us tender again.

Last Sunday we continued our series “Talk to the Hand – When Pride Blocks the Word” with Part 2: “When We Keep Revisiting What God Already Said.”

We’re looking at Balaam in Numbers 22, a prophet who heard God clearly but kept entertaining an offer that promised honor and reward. Instead of resting in God’s “no,” Balaam kept reopening the conversation, and desire began to twist a clear word into a “maybe” in his own heart.

If we’re honest, many of us have places where we do the same thing:

- we keep praying about what God has already addressed,
- we keep revisiting relationships, habits, or opportunities He’s already checked, and we call it “seeking God” when it’s really negotiating with His boundaries.

Balaam’s story warns us about the danger of loving the reward more than righteousness—but it also invites us into freedom. Freedom comes when we stop revisiting what God said and start trusting that His “no” is for our protection, not our punishment.
