REAL ONES WANTED – Teaching Artists / Mentors (NYC)
Brooklyn (East NY) & Queens (Jamaica)
After & During School hours | 1–2 days/week . 60 minutes per day | PAID
Pens Of Power is not a typical program. We use writing, music, and real conversations to reach young people, especially those who don’t always respond to traditional teaching.
We’re looking for people who can actually connect; not just stand in front of a room.
OPENINGS:
1. Bilingual Creative (East New York)
•Spanish & English a must
•You write, rap, create, or love expression
•You’ve worked with youth (or naturally know how to reach them)
•You can hold attention and bring energy
2. Strong Mentor Presence (Jamaica, Queens)
•You’ve worked with kids who test limits
•Background in mentoring, counseling, coaching, or even law enforcement
•You know how to be firm and respected
•You don’t fold under pressure—you lead
WHO YOU ARE:
•You can walk into a room and take control without yelling
•You actually care, but you’re not soft
•You understand the culture and the kids
•This is for people who want to make impact, not just collect a check.
