A Parent + Child Workshop (Ages 8–12) for families to explore food, feelings, and connection.

OUR INTENTION
To create a space where parents and kids can:
• Be curious about cooking together
• Learn how what we eat impacts our emotions
• Support their nervous systems through food + movement
• Build strong family connection rituals

In our May Workshop we will explore:
Buddha Bowls and Wild Herbs
Kids will:
• Create their own recipes
• Learn centering qigong movements
• Explore feelings through art activities
Together, we will nourish our most important relationships and create moments of connection that radiate into our homes and communities.

DETAILS
Where: Hosted by Brooklyn Apple Academy (545 5th Ave, Brooklyn, NY)
When: Fridays • 5:30–7:30 PM • May 1st & June 12th, 2026
Cost: Sliding Scale - $50-60 per person (Includes food & drink)
Facilitators:
Nadia Ketoure was born in Algeria, spent her childhood in Switzerland, her teenage years in Tunisia, and her young adult life in Canada. She is a mother to 3 beautiful kids who are mixed Haitian and of school age. Her interest in Nutrition and traditional foods is infused with the love for her kids and the need for our society to examine school food with health in mind. She is a certified Health Coach from the School of Integrative Nutrition (INN) and a Spring Forest Qigong (SFQ) group leader.
Jennifer Whitburn was trained as an architect and has a background in exhibition design / museum planning and arts education. Her yoga practice, qigong and chanting support her ongoing personal revolution and she enjoys connecting with nature, community rituals, healthy food, making art and dance. Jenn is an adoptive mother to an 11 year old and will support the art activities and logistics for Cooking Curiosity. Link to sign up in the link tree!
