UVCGB, Inc. About the Group
The United Vincie Cultural Group of Brooklyn (UVCGB) is a cultural group based in Brooklyn, New York, comprising mainly 20 Vincentians of diverse ages and backgrounds, from the “Vincy” Diaspora of New York/New Jersey. The group was founded in 2003 by Dr. Roxie Irish-Morris and other members. The goals of the UVCGB are primarily:
1. To donate medical sup

plies and equipment to clinics and hospitals in St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), in order to enhance healthcare in the country;
2. To promote Vincy culture throughout North America and elsewhere, via folk songs, chorale speeches, skits, storytelling, plays, poems, dancing, etc., which they perform at their concerts, prayer breakfasts, Christmas serenades, etc., and at the same time help raise funds for donations;
3. To generally assist Vincentians everywhere, who are in dire medical or financial need. The UVCGB also perform for good causes at many functions organized by other charitable groups in the USA. The Group recorded and launched for sale, its first folk CD in 2017. All, except one of the folk songs were composed by UVCGB members. The motto of the UVCGB is, “We’re Blessed to be a Blessing!”
