In “Ave Generosa,” Ola Gjeilo gives musical expression to an ancient reflection on Mary and the mystery of Christ taking flesh. As we commemorate Mary, Mother of Our Lord, we remember a life that received God’s call with faith and became part of a promise far greater than herself.

🎶 An Invitation to Join Us This Thursday!

I’m excited to invite members of our congregation to join me this Thursday the 13th in the evening (7:30 p.m.) at Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square for a night of NY-themed live jazz and pop-rock music!!

I’ll be music directing the show, leading the band, and playing guitar as we celebrate an exciting mix of New York jazz standards and pop-rock, performed by a fantastic band and some super talented singers.

It would be wonderful to see some familiar faces from the congregation there, and I’d be happy to share the evening with anyone who would like to come out and enjoy the music with us!!

We were blessed to welcome Shadin Nassar to Grace Lutheran Church this Sunday for a time of conversation and fellowship following worship.

Shadin shared with us about her experience as a Palestinian Christian and her work throughout the Middle East and North Africa. We heard about the life and witness of Christians in the Holy Land, the ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land (ELCJHL), and the important work of Augusta Victoria Hospital in East Jerusalem.

We are grateful to Shadin for being with us and for sharing her stories, experiences, and faith. Thank you also to everyone who stayed after worship, listened, asked questions, and joined in the conversation.

"Jesu, meine Freude" has accompanied generations of worshippers with its reminder that true joy is found in the steadfast love of Christ.
