Exciting news! Nico Calderon, a standout Cadet alumnus, has enlisted in the Army National Guard! He’s set to ship out on April 29th to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, where he’ll undergo rigorous training for the next five months as a Military Police Officer.

Nico, a proud graduate of Lafayette High School in Brooklyn, has not only excelled academically but also shone on the baseball diamond at Kingsborough Community College, contributing to the championship-winning 2024 CUNY and Region XV Regional team. His Cadet journey began with the Staten Island Bantam Cadets 12u team, and he returned in 2024 to make waves on the Cadets Open team under the guidance of Coach Muccio

“As a reliable pitcher and centerfielder, Nico also took on leadership roles off the field, helping as a tournament director and presenting awards at our year-end ceremony. I’m incredibly proud to have coached such a talented young man who embodies our Cadet motto, “Good citizen tomorrow through clean sports today.” “Nico is destined for greatness, both on and off the field,” Muccio said. **Cheesequake 60/90 Teams Open: A Thrilling Start to the Season!**

What an exhilarating opening day for the Cheesequake Grasshopper Cadets 13u team! In a heart-stopping finish, the Cadets found themselves trailing by 2 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning, but they rallied like champions, scoring an astonishing 9 runs to clinch a spectacular victory! Under the dynamic leadership of John Avitto and his phenomenal coaching staff, these young athletes showcased their grit and determination that promises an electrifying season ahead.

In other exciting 60/90 matchups, the Cheesequake Freshmen 15s edged out a nail-biting 10-9 victory, proving that every game is a battle worth fighting for! Meanwhile, the Grasshopper 14s put up a commendable effort, showing resilience and sportsmanship in their opening contest.

This season, the Cheesequake Cadets are proud to announce the formation of 10 teams, creating a home for players from South Staten Island and across New Jersey. If you are looking to join a community that fosters growth and passion for the game, you won’t want to miss out!

**Bantams Soar to Victory on Opening Day!**

The Cheesequake Bantam Cadets kicked off their season in spectacular fashion, claiming a triumphant victory in the USABL North Shore 12u Division! Under the skilled leadership of John Avitto, who enters his fourth year as a Cadet coach, the team showcased their talent and determination on the field. With an incredible coaching team comprised of Brian Porth, Erik Sosa, Jr., and Ron Cliente, the Bantams are primed for an exhilarating season filled with high-level league play and thrilling tournaments!

But that’s not all! Our Cheesequake Cub Cadets 10u team also hit the ground running, diving into action in the Continental Shore Division of the USABL. Led by the talented John Milius, they are set to make waves as they embark on a competitive journey this season.

Under the stellar leadership of Cadet alumnus Chris Greenwood, who is now in his second year as head coach, the team showcased their hard work and dedication during the off-season.

Every practice, every drill, and every moment of preparation has culminated in this incredible win, and it was evident on the field! The little guys displayed tenacity, teamwork, and an unwavering spirit that truly brought the game to life. We couldn’t be prouder of their effort and determination!

What an exhilarating start to the 82nd season of Cadets Baseball! The Rockaway Cub Cadets 10u team kicked off the festivities in spectacular fashion at the Long Island Hot Stove Spring Mayhem Tournament! 🌟

With hearts racing and spirits soaring, our talented young athletes showcased their skills, finishing the tournament with an impressive 2-1 record. The highlight? A thrilling walk-off victory in their third game, clinching a nail-biting 6-5 win that had everyone on the edge of their seats!

Under the dynamic leadership of our dedicated Head Coach Justin Biordi, along with the unwavering support from assistants Benny Biordi and Ed Dennis, the Cadets are set for an incredible season ahead. 💪⚾️

After a long, snowy winter, our dedicated players have been hard at work in indoor facilities throughout the city and New Jersey. Now, our Cadet teams are primed to hit the field this month and early April for their much-anticipated opening days!
