PAST
Since 2011, Women Who Code built a vibrant community of nearly half a million technologists powered by the passion and dedication of 1,000 volunteers across 145 countries. Together, WWCode created over 20,000 community-led technical trainings, empowered individuals with $3.5 million in scholarships, and dedicated over a million hours to volunteer service. Women Who Code connected people to mo

re than 14,000 career opportunities, all while nurturing leadership growth and career advancement strategies. Women Who Code fostered a global network through every connection and effort where everyone felt a sense of community and support. In April 2024, sadly, due to a lack of funding, Women Who Code had to shut their doors. PRESENT
We are humbled to welcome Women Who Code to the LWT family of brands. Our two unique brands share the common passion of uniting business and technology leaders from all backgrounds to level up their skills, network with professionals who can support their career growth and increase their economic power. And we’ve both made an intentional decision to focus our value on mid-senior leaders. Despite the challenges of limited financial resources, we are committed to this community of brilliant leaders. We’re not backing down—we’re doubling down. But we want to be clear, this is not a merger; instead, our team is expanding our family of brands to build upon all of the work Women Who Code has done over the last decade. To begin, we plan to listen to you, the members of Women Who Code, to understand what you need and want from this powerful community of talented and exceptional technologists. We invite you to share your thoughts and ideas through our ‘Talk To Us’ button below. These conversations will help guide our path forward, ensuring we remain connected to the specific value you seek. Whether you’re coding your first line or leading the charge at the highest levels, Women Who Code, we want to support you. With that in mind, we want to provide value from the start. We are thrilled to launch two new Women Who Code programs:
WWCode City Membership & WWCode Leadership Program. These programs are designed to elevate tech leaders. WWCode Leadership empowers mid-to-senior technologists to develop and build their leadership skills. At the same time, WWCode Cities membership connects you locally and curates custom introductions to support your career growth. Whether advancing your career or seeking to build deeper local networks, these programs are your next step. Innovation knows no bounds—neither do we. Together, we innovate, lead, and code our way to a shared future that aligns with the world we all want to live in.

The pay gap isn’t closing itself. 💅

Most women in tech are leaving $20K+ on the table every year, not because they didn’t earn it, but because nobody taught them the receipts-first approach to comp conversations.

This carousel is the system. Six slides. One playbook. Zero “just be confident!” energy.

Three quarters of the Bletchley Park codebreakers were women.

Most people can’t name one.

They cracked Enigma. They built and operated the Bombe and Colossus. They translated intercepted Axis intelligence. They were officially classified as clerks — and actually running the war.

Then they signed the Official Secrets Act and didn’t speak about it for fifty years.

Say their names:
↳ Joan Clarke
↳ Mavis Batey
↳ Margaret Rock

The pattern is older than tech. Women do the work. The story credits the man. If you’ve ever felt invisible in a room you helped build — you have eighty years of company.

No more codebreakers in the shadows. 💛

The cost of not supporting women in tech is no longer a moral question. It’s a business one.

→ £3.5B lost annually as women exit UK tech
→ 50% of women in tech leave by 35
→ 22% of global AI roles held by women
→ 82¢ on the dollar (down from 83¢ — the gap is widening)

The companies investing in women now are the ones that will still have women in 2030. The rest will be writing case studies on what went wrong.

If you lead a tech company: send your women to Summit. Not as a perk. As a strategic investment.

POV: you let the AI cook and now nothing works 😂

AI-assisted coding is a cheat code, until you ship vibes instead of features.

The rule of thumb 👇

✅ Use it for boilerplate, unfamiliar syntax, and rubber-ducking
🚫 Skip it for security-sensitive code, logic you can’t explain, and anything you’d outsource your thinking on

Vibe coding ships features. Engineering ships systems. Know the difference. Use both.

Want the full playbook? Our Summit speakers are bringing the receipts, real frameworks, real workflows, real talks from women shipping production AI code at scale.

Your GitHub is your new resume.

The fastest way to make it actually impressive? Contribute to open source. Real projects. Real maintainers. Real code that real teams use every day.

We pulled together 5 open-source projects that look genuinely great on a resume — verified active as of May 2026. From total-beginner-friendly (hello, first-contributions) to “I shipped a PR to Microsoft” energy.

Whether you’re switching careers, breaking in, or just trying to get past the ATS filter, start small. One “good first issue.” One tiny PR. Then another. That’s how careers get built. 🚀

Swipe through, save it, and pick ONE to start this week. Drop the one you’re going for in the comments so we can cheer you on.

BONUS POINTS: Can you name all the iconic 90s/2000s women serving looks at the computer in this carousel? Drop your guesses below, we’ll be impressed if you get all 7.
