One week from tonight, the REAL, unofficial start to the summer season begins with another Dave’s Waves weekend this June 7th-9th. Along with the usual all-weekend menu offerings and audio/video installationary, there will be two performances featuring THE Dave’s Waves House Band (Erin Rogers/Jessica Pavone /Tristan Kasten Krause/Your Host) with very special guests composer-percussionist Sarah Hennies on Friday night and composer-guitarist Matt Sargent on Saturday night. Then…on Sunday afternoon I’m excited to announce that I will be joining the legendary radio host/producer/composer/mult-instrumentalist/visual artist/etc David Garland for a duo performance that’ll be something definitely not to be missed—David rarely makes it down this way these days! That’s right—it’ll be an all-Hudson Valley reverse migration happening at the next Dave’s Waves..

I almost forgot about this. Not the performance, but the recording. December 18th would be the last time Phill invited me to take part in his Experimental Intermedia series. It was three weeks to the day before he left us, and there he was, parking his wheelchair directly in front of the right speaker so that he was pretty much sharing the stage with me. You can’t see either of us, because I decided to show some of my videos (intermedia, right?), but we’re there. Anyway, this is a short harmonica solo. I followed it with a couple of longer guitar improvs, but that’ll be for another time. Thanks for watching..

Hi Friends, Family, Colleagues—

Hard to express an unqualified “Happy” New Year at the moment. It feels a little, well, under-considered. But I would like to wish everyone a healthy, more peaceful New Year. Happy may come—who knows?

In a small fit of hubris (or...chutzpah) I sent the song Yvette Massoudi and I released a couple of weeks ago to these groups and got back the best gifts I could have possibly imagined. Please forgive the public display, but their responses went a long way towards filling my heart some. Maybe they’ll be signs of hope for you as well.
